SEPULTURA: Another New Song Posted Online - Jan. 30, 2006
Another new SEPULTURA song, entitled "Ostia", has been posted online at www.myspace.com/sepultura. The track comes off the group's new album, "Dante XXI" (view cover here), due in North America on March 14 via SPV. An MP3 of the album track "Convicted In Life" can be downloaded at this location.

As first reported by BLABBERMOUTH.NET on Jan. 13, SEPULTURA will embark on their European tour with IN FLAMES without drummer/founding member Igor Cavalera, who is taking a break from the group's touring activities to spend time with his second wife and their new son, who was born earlier in the month. Former SOULFLY drummer Roy Mayorga, who played with Igor's brother Max for several years in the late '90s and again in 2001-2003, has been enlisted to do the European tour, with the possibility that he will stick around for further touring activities beyond the spring.

SEPULTURA's European tour will not be the first time that the band have performed without Igor Cavalera. Back in April 2005, SEPULTURA completed a short tour of Mexico with the help of roadie Guilherme Martin (ex-VIPER, TOYSHOP) after Cavalera was unable to make the dates.

Have not listened to much Sep after singer split.. This CD is actually pretty good. Only 38 minutes, which could be a blessing or curse depending on your perspecitive.. Listen to a few songs prior to purchase..

only 38 min? Metallica puts out albums that actually use up all the cd and not half of it and yet most metal bands couldnt even come up with 40 minutes of material, most of which is crap. Jesus fucking christ and people wonder why Metallica are successful and other bands are not. Try making a decent amount of music you fucking retards.

no we don't... Better to have 38 minutes of quality than 75 minutes of fillers. And if you are seriously suggesting that Metallica's last few albums don't have fillers, then you should seek help. Load & Reload = 2x75 minutes of steaming dogshit. Maybe that's why they don't sell as many albums as they used to?

The new Sepultura is pretty good. Not as good as their old stuff of course, but better than their last few albums. 'Ostia' is probably my favourite on on the album

is very good and Derrick does his best performance yet... he's actually very good here...

as for the short album comment.... what can I say... this albums is 20 times better than St. Anus even at half its length... have you heard the notion of quality over quantity?

who needs 80mins of drivel when they can deliver at half that figure?

that said I also prefer albums to clock from 45 to 60mins if they're sold at full price... but that doesn't mean the music sucks!

And Reign in Blood is only 27 mins long and it's a thrash metal classic.
Quality is the only thing the matters. And Dante XXI is the best album Sepultura released since Chaos A.D.
Dark Wood of Error, Convicted in Life, City of Dis, False, Fighting On, Ostia, Buried Words and Nuclear Seven are my favourite songs.

but other songs from the album are way better!!! Burried Words blew me the fuck away!!
I dindt expect much from Sepultura although Roorback was not bad but this... this is definitly one of the best work Sepultura ever did, with Max or Derrick!

Man all the shit talking. Arise is definitely there hardest album with pretty mucha good mix of trash and heaviness. You really can't shit on Chaos AD. I mena territory is a brutal song. Easy to play but it is still brutal. Always thought Schizophrenia was pretty good myself. Always was into beneath remains. I even like.... ready for this one....... Roots. TO tell you the truth, blending tribal influence and metal was a sick idea. I am not into drugs but the first time I heard roots I was tripping on mushrooms and I gotta say that album was awsome. In fact I like alot of there stuff, even the stuff with Derrick. I am also glad to see max singing on some heavier stuff now also. For the first time I do not feel like it was a bad thing for them to split. Now its like having 2 sepulturas with 2 awsome albums released close to each other.

COMMENT | Damn, these tracks really suprised me

They sound pretty fucking good. I decided I'd never buy a Sepultura album again until they do the reunion with Max after nothing but mediocrity after "Roots", but this is thrashy and very awesome. It's good to see Soulfly and Sepultura getting back to being heavy again. I'll definitely buy this one when it comes out.

my favorite Sepultura albums:

1) Chaos AD
2) Arise
3) Beneath the Remains
4) Roots (fuck you, I like it)

-I don't have anything older than BTR, though the sparse mp3's that I have kick ass, but I can't rank them here-

11) Revolusongs EP
12) Nation
13) Roorback

Sorry, those may be pretty good, but they don't deserve to share a top 10 spot with the above-mentioned classics.

is it just me, or does this recording sound like shit?

there are some alright guitar parts, but overall it's just Sepultura trying to crank out another unnecessary album. I would have been okay with them hanging it up after Chaos AD.
