AC/DC: Scottish Newspaper Publishes Article On Upcoming BON SCOTT Memorial - Feb. 6, 2006
Scottish newspaper The Forfar Desptach & Kirriemuir Herald published an article in its February 2, 2006 edition about the proposed carved stone plinth in honor of late AC/DC frontman Bon Scott. Check out a scan of the feature at the AC/DC fan site Crabsody In Blue.

Bon Scott died on February 19, 1980 in London, England. He choked to death on his own vomit while sleeping in a friend's car. According to the AC/DC FAQ web site, he and the friend, a musician named Alisdair Kinnear, had been drinking the evening of the 19th and Bon apparently fell asleep during the ride home. Kinnear could not wake Bon, so he left him in the car to sleep. Kinnear awoke early in the evening on the 20th, checked on Bon, and found him unconscious in the car. Bon could not be revived, and was pronounced dead.

i believe bon scott is being remembered and honored cause he was part of ac/dc and all the kick ass music they did together, not because he drank and choked on his puke.

i just tend to look at the work he did rather than the cause of his death. its like when people talk about hendrix, he's remembered for his talent and all the music he did and how he changed the way the guitar was played. granted, i dont think being a drunk should be remembered but if bon would not have been a part of ac/dc, he would have just been another person who died of being an alcoholic. but he is remembered cause he was in ac/dc. to me he is on of the greats. its just unfortunate what happened. but isee how it could look like theyre remembering a drunk. but whatever person sees the tribute should remember the musci not the drunk part. that was his business and he didnt make it out of that. but all i like to think about is the musci.
