JUDAS PRIEST Starting Work On New Studio Album

JUDAS PRIEST management co-ordinator Jayne Andrews has posted the following message on the group's official web site:
"All of the band took a well deserved break over the Christmas and New Year holidays. Having been touring for nearly two years, they were badly in need of recharging their batteries! Now they are raring to go and are starting work on their new studio album. For this reason, they have decided not to do any touring this year but to work straight through on the new album! Once we are further down the line with it I'll give you some updates!
"We have just heard from Burrn! magazine in Japan that JUDAS PRIEST have swept the polls!
The Best Group of the year: JUDAS PRIEST
The Best Album of the year: JUDAS PRIEST 'Angel Of Retribution'
The Best Live Performance in Japan: JUDAS PRIEST

I don't respect anyone who would say otherwise.
Does anyone remember when they were announced to be on Ozzfest 2004 and all of the gaycore nu-metal ozzfest patrions were complaining at the time?
And then the next year, after having seen them, most of them were hoping Judas Priest would come back for 2005.

I liked AoR despite some relevant criticism made by some.

Painkiller was the ONLY good Priest album, and even that disc had a lot of filler. The new CD is ALL FILLER.
Here in Japan, people are sheep, and still believe in respecting their elders (even when, in this case, they [Priest] don't deserve it).

Some people these days really don't understand the true Judas Priest, in order to understand the the band you had to grow up listen to the band when they were at there hite.
So what if the man is gay! He & the Band still seam to bring down the house .
A.O.R. is great, I give it a 10. Infact all there albums are great.

...but I hope someone tells Travis to take it easy on the bass drums. I mean on the AoR he used the doubles on almost every song and almost all the time. It kind of gets boring and takes away from double bass 'effect'.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS ROB HALFORD IS FUCKING METAL AND CAN SING LIKE A MOTHERFUCKER! PRIEST IS AN AWESOME BAND AND THEIR MUSIC SPEAKS FOR THEMSELVES. ANGEL OF RETRIBUTION WAS A GREAT ALBUM(LOVE THE GUITARS ON JUDAS RISING AND DEMONIZER). I LOOK FORWARD TO A NEW PRIEST ALBUM AND THIS BAND SHOULD NEVER BE TAKEN FOR GRANTED. I'd love to see Priest get back on a regular recording schedule. how many studio lps have they put out in the last decade? 3, I believe. 2 with Rippper and 1 with Rob. BTW, just for the record, the fact that Rob fucks guys does not in any way make him any less of a metal legend.

I agree 100%. After alot of people saw Priest on Ozzfest04, it completely changed their minds about JP. It's amazing to me just how many people had'nt even heard of JP. I seen JP for the first time on the Turbo Lover tour and was locked in after that. One of the great live bands of my time.

the dictionary should list metal and have a picture of the mighty priest take up the whole fuckin page.as a fan from almost the begining of priest,its laughable to read someone say that painkiller is the only good cd from them..ha ha.they are all great in my book,and aor is a return to the classic sound that made them great,with scott behind the kit gives them an extra KICK.but aor wasent gonna sound like a pk 2,they even said its gonna be a return to classic judas priest metal.can you say sin after sin,or brittish steel,or screaming for vengeance.METAL!

...is an utter moron. And clearly a little younger than the standard Priest fan by stating "Painkiller" is the only good Priest album.
I'd break down EVERY essential metal recording the band has made for ya chump...but that shouldn't be necesarry. Priest's legacy is there for all to see and hear.
I will say this though...I like "Painkiller'" alot, but good god is it overrated by the current metal crowd (who probably remember that record best from the waning days of Headbangers Ball). Great album to be sure....but you can't go wrong with ANYTHING from Sad Wings thru Defenders...
