AC/DC Frontman To Perform At 'Sunday For Sammy' Charity Event - Feb. 13, 2006
According to a posting on the AC/DC fan site AC/DC Highway To Hell, AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson will be performing at the "Sunday For Sammy" charity event in Newcastle, England on February 26. This event will take place at the Sage Gateshead and will feature music and comedy. The 7:30 p.m. performance of this event is sold out; however, there are still tickets available for the 4:00 p.m. performance.

The Sammy Johnson Memorial Fund was established by Tim Healy and Jimmy Nail in memory of their friend and fellow actor Sammy Johnson, who died in 1998. The Fund's aim is to support performers from the Northeast at the outset of their careers. "Sunday for Sammy" will feature a feast of music and comedy, including some specially written Auf Wiedersehen Pet sketches. Already confirmed to appear are Tim Healy, Jimmy Nail, Kevin Whately, Denise Welch, Jill Halfpenny, Brendan Healy, Brian Johnson, Carol Malia, Peter Beardsley, Paul Gascoigne, Billy Mitchell and Peter Peverley. Listed acts may change on the night subject to availability. All proceeds wil go to the Sammy Johnson Memorial Fund.
