AUDIOSLAVE 'Faster, More Efficient' On Third Album - Feb. 13, 2006
Launch Radio Networks reports: AUDIOSLAVE is well into the recording process on its third album, which the band tentatively plans to release in June. Lead singer Chris Cornell told Launch how the process has changed for the group this time around. "It's just really gotten a little bit faster, I believe, and more efficient," he said. "We started out with the attitude that we wanted to just go into a room, the four of us, and write songs on the spot with everyone always there, and then also make our records that way. We started out doing that very well, and really what's happening is that the music stylistically is growing and changing, which it naturally will, but the process is really still the same."

The yet-to-be-titled new disc will follow up 2005's "Out of Exile".

AUDIOSLAVE is recording with producer Brendan O'Brien, who's worked as either a producer or mixer for the bandmembers' previous groups, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and SOUNDGARDEN.

Chris Cornell was recently selected by clothing designer John Varvatos as the face of the ad campaign for his 2006 spring line. Photos from the campaign, which will run for six months, can be seen at JohnVarvatos.com.

"Faster and more efficient?" Is Audioslave's next album going to be a German car or something?

It's almost painful for me to hear what Chris Cornell sounds like these days. Listen to Superunknown and then listen to an Audioslave album. It's hard to believe it's the same guy.

Soundgarden and Rage had great riffs. I mean the BEST in their day. For me, Superunknown is my generation's (gen-x I guess) Led Zeppelin 4. Anything after that has been icing on the cake and it's cool that their doing their 3rd album already. I hope they really rock this time out.
Thanks.

Yes rocks... it has no tie with metal whatsoever ... but it rocks.

Just hope they're gonna make an album thats a bit more riff-driven in stead of MOrello's funky sounds haha

Before I go on this rant I don't like there music but I do think they are musically talanted

Who gives a shit. Maybe Cris will do something different he might sing this time. All he does is mumble like a wuss. I can't believe that they will make another cd, Why would they want to take the evil American money. Those bitches complain so much about how evil America is. How the American dollar is killing the whole world but they sure as hell will take that money.

So Fuck Audioslave

So Fuck Their Best Friend Castro

But Audioslave is lame, lame , lame. Oh Chris where have you gone? Dont you have enough money? Please find that voice we all used to know cause the one you have now, well...it sucks. I also hate the solos the cheese against the machine guy plays, could they be anymore predictable? Fire his ass and get that old dude Bowie used to play with, Reeves Gabrels is his name I believe. Or hire one of the bands that PJ Harvey uses and make a real fucking album that shows off your voice, ANYTHING but more Audiolame.

just because you are faster doesn't mean you are going to be any better, they still aren't a good ,intriguing, have your own sound kind of band, they belong on the pop charts, they shouldn't even be in metal news. Who writes this stuff now.

if it's going so easy with the songwriting and recording...
...might it be the same songs in new shapes?

i KNOW they can ROCK...
...but why DIDN'T they on their last album?

if i hear more lame ass songs like 'doesn't remind me' i might...
...give up hope on audioslave completely...

ROCK god damn it!

when i was 13 my brother bought the tape "badmotorfinger" and i listened to it when i was mowing the yard one day. my favorite band at that point was skid row or guns n roses. i was a "mainstream" music fan and i'd never heard anything so raw and crazy sounding. i thought they had no idea what they were doing and were just making weird noises but i thought it was awesome and that is definately one of my top 5 all-time favorites. the vocals on "badmotorfinger" took THAT TYPE of screaming to the limit. i think "euphoria morning" did the same thing in a different way. i forgot my point....
