open up for the bigger touring acts like Braced For Nails at least... Either way, I believe Obituary plays at around 11 - I'll be there by 10.

Is that the same Juggernaut that did Baptism Under Fire and Trouble Within ? The Milwaukee Metalfest is basically dead . John Koshick burned so many bridges with bands.

If Houston wasn't gay/5 hours away from San Antonio, I'd check it out, but until then I'll just wait till they come here.

if this is the same shit they tried to pull off a few years ago, then you are better OFF GETTING OUT NOW!! this is a rip off, and a waste of time. most of those bands are from the Houston area, and just a bunch of friends getting together.

the promoters, venue, scheduling, management all sucked!! they didn't promote the event, and when we fucking got there they moved it to a SMALLER venue (a damn dive bar with a small ass stage) with no real place to stand since it was mostly tables, they asked us for MORE MONEY, most bands didn't get paid (even if they traveled thousands of miles to get there). the bands were counting on the money they made at the fest to pay for there trip back home!!! those bands had to beg for money to get back on the road.

Suffocation was to have headlined, (along with Divine Empire, Six Feet Under, and Dying Fetus) but they ALL pulled out because the event management was HORRIBLE!! why would they play for free, or get paid but take money way from smaller up-an-coming bands when they themselves don’t make a lot of money??? only band that actually played that was a “known” band was Cattle Decapitation.

i can't afford to make that trip again. rent a car, hotel stay, tickets, and then we get there and all the bands we went to see weren't going to even play.

OBITUARY NEEDS TO GET OUT WHILE THEY STILL CAN! save that date, but come to AUSTIN instead!!! promise if you come play the Backroom, you will have a hell of lot more fans and WAY BETTER time there then you could hope for at this so-called “Metal” fest. there are some great local bands that are worth opening for you. check out By Any Means Necessary, Demonio, Ignitor, Melanoma, Vesperian Sorrow...the list can go on.

It always amazes me that so many people bitch and complain that the metal scene is not what it used to be.NO SHIT!!! If you don't support it it won't be there.Hell yeah most of the bands at this show are locals but its just a fraction of the quality bands that are in this area. Even Black Sabbath was once a local band.I'll be there to show my support. Will you?

I don't see this show as 44 bands supporting Obituary.I see it as Obituary showing their support for our local guys.Thank you guys in advance for a great show.As for Houston being a gay town...why don't you come join us in the pit. We'll see what you're all about. I'll send you back home crying to momma you whiney little punk. You keep waiting.Maybe someone will feel sorry for you and give you Supertramp tickets or something.
