DIO: 'Holy Diver Live' CD Due In April - Feb. 19, 2006
Eagle Rock Entertainment/Spitfire Records has set an April 18 North American release date for DIO's "Holy Diver Live" CD (one day earlier internationally).

Captured live in front of a sold-out London crowd, "Holy Diver Live" sees Ronnie James Dio delivering a truly memorable performance on this truly memorable night. Dio has been hailed as one of the finest voices in heavy metal for over 30 years now and for good reason. Due to his stints in RAINBOW, BLACK SABBATH and as a solo artist, Dio is one of the few people in the history of music that can honestly say they have played on three classic albums, each under a different moniker. "Holy Diver Live" features the classic "Holy Diver" album in its entirety, from start to finish, recorded live for the very first time. It also features, among others, "Heaven & Hell", "Sign of the Southern Cross" and "Mob Rules" from his BLACK SABBATH days, "Tarot Woman", "Man on the Silver Mountain" and "Long Live Rock 'N' Roll" from the RAINBOW era and "We Rock" from his solo career.

"Holy Diver Live" CD track listing:

CD1:

01. Stand Up and Shout
02. Holy Diver
03. Gypsy
04. Caught in the Middle
05. Don't Talk to Strangers
06. Straight Through the Heart
07. Invisible
08. Rainbow in the Dark
09. Shame on the Night

CD2:

01. Tarot Woman
02. Sign of the Southern Cross
03. One Night in the City
04. Gates of Babylon
05. Heaven & Hell
06. Man on the Silver Mountain
07. Long Live Rock ā€˜N’ Roll
08. We Rock

Mostly songs we've already heard a trillion times. Man on the Silver Mountain, Long Live Rock 'N' Roll....these are always played. Would have wished for something more obscure.

cd then I'll be getting it. The Holy diver cd means a hell of alot to me cause it just has some much baggage attached to it, oh I remember how good all that shit was the era, the cd, the clubs the babes in the back seat the JD the waking up dead and I miss it cause it was so natural. its our duty as DIO fans to buy this shit although some rehash is just insulting but this one has cool tunes on it. "Mob Rules?" better be on it. carry on wayward sons and daughters of the metal movement....

i dont mind,to me he's alright when i compare him to tracy g,but doug didnt and dosent strick me as dio-esque i guess you can call it,he didnt quite fit in to me imo, though he is a really good player.dio is and sadly will always be over looked and underrated.every time ive seem dio,and ive seen him many times,he has always been excellent, and come thru as nothing less than metal,to me he is a metal god.long live dio..

Why is it that there's yet another Dio release, and there's no friggin Stargazer anywhere? It wasn't on the last live CD..it wasn't on the Dio anthology...this is one of his best songs EVER.

Ronald James Padavona, from Cortland, NY USA

I went to college in his home town and saw him in, of all places, a Time Warner Cable store! He must still have family in Cortland. I was star struck and couldn't even say a word to him! He is very friendly..he was talking to the cable lady and he is very small. Damn! I should have at least said hello!

Dio was pretty much my first "favorite band" when I was a kid, 6th- 7th grade 83-84 or so. I hung out with some of my friends older brothers and got turned on... to all sorts of shit! But man, I could not believe how good this music was and hardly anybody listened to it. I'd heard lots of the classic Sabbath around my old man and wasn't really familiar with the Dio stuff but I definately remember hearing Heaven & Hell for the first time and being fucking blown away. I was very happy that there was all this more Dio besides Holy Diver and The last in line, at the time. I think much of the Sab material with Dio can easily stack up with the Ozz. Some of the best Metal ever recorded....
