METALLICA's Management, Label Reject OZZFEST Rumors

Representatives for METALLICA's management (QPrime) and record label (Warner Bros.) have both rejected as "false" rumors that the band will be headlining this summer's Ozzfest.
METALLICA have lined up a number of European festival appearances as part of their "Escape From The Studio '06" tour, including slots at Germany's Rock Am Ring and U.K.'s Download festivals.
METALLICA recently confirmed in a posting on their official web site that they have recruited Rick Rubin (SLAYER, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, SLIPKNOT, AUDIOSLAVE, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS) to produce their forthcoming studio LP. The news was accompanied on the site by several pictures of METALLICA in the studio with a shoeless Rubin.
METALLICA officially began the songwriting process for their new album late last year and are expected to spend the next few months compiling ideas before entering the final recording stage. A late 2006/early 2007 release via Warner Bros. is expected.

This is pretty common for bands management and probably the label to blow off "rumours" of a band that most know by now is "Escaping The Studio" would play Ozzfest,I still think they are and that Q-Prime and the record label are covering their asses to make sure that nothing leaks officially. I think they're still doing it. This response came WEEKS after speculation began why wouldn't they kill the "rumours" then if it wasn't true.
I said they were touring? They ended up doing it after denying they'd even step out of the studio
I said they'd sack Bob for Rick after they said 'Bob Will Always be our Producer"
Now I'm saying Metallica will be at Ozzfest in some way,shape or form.
Count on it.

It's quite possible Metallica is covering there asses,other bands have done it and I wouldn't put it past them to do it as well. When the bread is buttered smoothly it tastes better and as much as I hate the thought of Metallica doing Ozzfest I take joy in knowing that they'll KILl the rest of the competition.

Give Ozzfest a decent name They Kick Fuckin Ass Live, I have not been let down in 3X I have seen em' Live.
I think SOAD is far different than ANY band out today in the MAINSTREAM for that matter, they have some heaviness, they hav ethe Thrasy parts, they have the wako DK inspired(IMO) wacked out parts...............

frankly it wont matter who can upstage ozzy since he announced last year 05 was his final year doing the whole tour. He said he might do a few shows
Metallica headlining would fit right in with Ozzfest but it probably wont happen, not because managment denied it just because it wont happen. Even though Download Fest is a foreshadow of what the Ozzfest will most likely produce

I aint saying it is true, but as far as their studio coverup goes it does not seem to fly. They are touring South Africa, Europe, and I think Japan, in their "Escape From the Studio Tour" and guess what...those dates are in June and Late Aug. Hmmmmm, that seems to leave 90% of the Ozzfest dates open, and since they are already on tour...
Like I said, I am not trying to say that it is true, but I wouldnt count them completely out either.

Im sick and tired of everyones shit about Ozzfest and Metallica. I hate to break it to all you people but Metal, at least the great metal of years past is dead. The only way Ozzfest can survive as a platform for most of the awsome Second Stage bands is to get these crap metal bands (even tho System of a Down is pretty fuckin cool). Otherwise it wouldnt be able to exist.
On my other rant Metallica (while the Load/Reload cd sucked) has always been a fixture in metal and wether you love them or hate them they deserve respect. I am sick and tired of 16 year old kids finding the loudest hardest stuff they can find and saying fuck off to the history of it. I hate to break it to you, but for a long time probabally before most of you haters were born there was only Metallica and Slayer. But so many haters forget that Metallica put metal on the map, without them, the whole scene would be shot to hell.
P.S. Ozzy and Sabbath started metal so fuck off, Ozzy can suck Justin Timberlake's dick and still be cool. He created metal as we know it so he can do whatever he wants.

Well fuck Ozzfest but don't fuck Ozzy. Fuck Bob Rock but don't fuck Metallica. If Metallica shows up and I don't go because they said they wouldn't be there, I'm gonna be so fuckin pissed. Metallica kicks so much ass though and they haven't been back to the US for a while. So fuck it all
