3FACED, the new Southern California-based band featuring guitarist/vocalist
Patrick Kennison (formerly of
UNION UNDERGROUND) and bassist
Marty O'Brien (
TOMMY LEE,
DISTURBED,
STATIC-X), have been chosen to open for
BON JOVI on March 3 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in front of an estimated crowd of
25,000.
3FACED landed the gig as part of a contest by the
KLOS radio station in Los Angeles. The band were chosen based on two songs submitted.
As previously reported,
3FACED took home the award for "Best Alternative Act" at the first annual
"Southern California Music Awards". The band were also nominated in the "Best Song" category for their track
"I Am". They performed at the event in front of a sold-out crowd of 1,200 at the historic Warner Grand Theater in San Pedro, California.
3FACED recently entered the studio to begin recording four new songs with producer/former
EVANESCENCE guitarist/songwriter
