Ex-IRON MAIDEN Singer DI'ANNO To Release New Album In May
- Feb. 25, 2006
|
|
Former IRON MAIDEN frontman Paul Di'Anno will release his new album, entitled "The Living Dead", in North America on May 15 through Cleopatra Records. A video on a separate disc will be included in the album package. As previously reported, the CD will be issued in Japan on March 25. Di'Anno will be backed by the German band RE-VISION (a.k.a. THE PHANTOMS OF THE OPERA) on his upcoming tour of Russia. They will perform a set that will cover Paul's entire career, including a lot of the classic MAIDEN material. In my opinion, Iron maiden s/t and Killers are their best albums and I own them all. It's ironic I've been listening to both albums non-stop for the last few days. How is Dianno's solo stuff?

Why is it, some fuckers always gotta take a piss on what somebody else is doing?
Paul Di'anno will always be the original Iron man. Even he has said that Bruce Dickinson is the quintesential Maiden singer but, no one can take away what Paul did with Maiden on those first 2 albums. I can't wait to hear Paul's new shit! I'd rather hear him sing a damn Clay Aiken song than have to listen to most motherfuckers who call themselves rock singers nowadays.
Di'anno kicks ass!!!

Killers is better than Number of the beast.
Steve, what happened? You used to write great songs. Now it's just recycling.

Di'anno's previous stuff is pretty good ... but not as good as Maiden were with him. I prefer the Battlezone stuff, but his Killers stuff was o.k. too. The first Battlezone disc, Fighting Back, is INCREDIBLE.
As to the asshat that is "troo" and thinks Maiden was better with Di'anno, you are entitled to your opinion about which was the best ... but what do you mean "recycling?"

recycling means Steve keeps on trotting out the same old tired chord progressions and riffs, album after album. e.g. brave new world - I had high hopes. It was an ok album, but hardly groundbreaking. The X factor was another prime example - same old same old, whereas Killers was fresh and new. Why can't they write good songs like Prodigal son now? And why is Bruce's solo work so much better than Maiden's stuff?

Di'Anno is a great guy and he's good live. Even his own stuff works... Plus his Swedish band is pretty good!

And you are a prick, Kull. Speaking of Assholes ...
While I didn't dig all of Maiden's stuff post Somewhere in Time, I only heard a couple of things that I considered "recycled" ... but again, opinions are like Kulls ... everyone has one.
And while Bruce's stuff was good ... all of it ... I didn't think most of it beat Maiden's legacy. Maybe it's because we are both a lot older since we heard Number of the Beast, et al?
But, we can agree to disagree! I thought some of the stuff on the newest Maiden was pretty good!
