THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER Temporarily Lose Drummer Due To 'Immigration Issues'

MTV.com is reporting that THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER were forced to cancel two gigs this week — Minneapolis on February 22 and Chicago on February 23 — because of some immigration issues. New drummer Pierre Langlois was denied entry to the U.S. from his native Canada on Monday. In the interim, former CHIMAIRA skinsman Kevin Talley has agreed to fill in. The band resumed the trek in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Friday (February 24).
THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER have been confirmed for the eighth annual New England Metal And Hardcore Festival, set to take place Friday-Sunday, April 28-30 at The Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts. The band's most recent album, "Miasma", was released in July 2005 via Metal Blade Records. The CD was recorded with Eric Rachel (NORA, ATREYU, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, BURNT BY THE SUN, EVERY TIME I DIE, GOD FORBID) and Andreas Magnusson (formerly of SCARLET) at Trax East studios in New Jersey.

Which should be obvious at this point... basically Kevin told the border police when he was crossing that he plays drums in an american band and went on to tell them how many records they sold and such, to which the border police were like 'GIMMIE THEYZ TAX MONEYZ THEYZ'.

i like these guys for some reason.....hate the fact that they get shoved into the ''metalcore'' category...which they are NOT.....reminds me ALOT of AT THE GATES......with alot more of a death metal influence............

in some ways its a little blatant.....id agree, but at least they sound better at sounding like AT THE GATES than most of the metal core scene....and at least these guys do have a death metal sound.....

That sucks about the drummer, i definately don't think they are metalcore, hey shit happens and if they can get through it that they'll prove to be an even better band.

screams and death growls throughout ALL of their songs.
great solos.
great band. huge carcass influence as well.

Metalcore has nothing to do with singing or solos. It's all about the hardcore vocals which are fairly present during the CD. There are also plenty of hardcore breakdowns in there too.
Oh and listen to some of their demos. There's plenty of clean singing in there.

i saw these guys at ozzfest last year. i was never realy into them but they put on great show sounded great. But this is just to funny. sucks for them tho.

actually the vocals dont sound like hardcore vocals at all to me.....the guy sounds ALOT like Tomas of AT THE GATES.......hardcore vocalists dont have any ''range'' or tone to their voice like JAMEY JASTA.......

I saw them in Grand Rapids last night. Pulled some rockstar bullshit. I got my camera taken away, because they didn't want photography during their set. Bullshit. They fucking sucked anyway. It had nothing to do with their lack of current drummer, cuz he's cool as hell, even if he can't get in the country.

Thanks for the support everyone. It's fucking crazy that I am playing THE RED CHORD set and then playing another set with BDM. We played our first show last night in Grand Rapids without a single practice!! Unfortunately we only played 8 songs since I only had 3 days notice. Tonight here in Detroit we played 11 songs. It's a little shaky sometimes but I guess it is better than canceling the shows. I don't want to leave a super long comment but if you want to read more, I posted a blog at myspace.com/kevintalley.
