AC/DC: 'Family Jewels' Nominated For 'Best DVD' At Germany's ECHO Awards - Feb. 27, 2006
According to a posting on the AC/DC fan site AC/DC Ruff Stuff, AC/DC's "Family Jewels" DVD was nominated in the "Best DVD" category at Germany's Echo 2006 Awards, which will be held on March 12 at the Estrel Convention Center in Berlin. There is no indication that any of the AC/DC bandmembers will attend the event.

The two-disc set, which was certified platinum in Germany last summer, went straight to No. 1 on the German DVD chart and reached No. 7 on the regular album chart (music DVDs are allowed to enter album charts in Germany).

"Family Jewels", which also debuted at No. 1 on DVD charts in the U.S., U.K., France, Italy, Norway and Austria, is the band's first-ever documentary collection of early television performances, video clips and never-before-seen footage. Disc One is devoted to the Bon Scott era and dates back to an early appearance on television show "Countdown", with AC/DC performing "Baby Please Don't Go", featuring Bon Scott in a schoolgirl uniform. Disc Two centers around Brian Johnson. It captures a 10-year era from the "Back In Black" album in 1980 and finishes with the "Are You Ready" clip from 1991. The complete track listing can be found at this location.
