DEF LEPPARD To Team Up With JOURNEY For Summer Tour - Mar. 2, 2006
DEF LEPPARD and JOURNEY will be teaming up for a U.S. tour this summer. No dates have been confirmed at this time.

DEF LEPPARD's two-CD collection of hits, "Rock of Ages", has sold 452,000 copies in the United States since its May 2005 release. Meanwhile, the band's 1999 "Vault - Greatest Hits" (Mercury) collection has shifted 4.08 million copies so far.

DEF LEPPARD's all-covers set, entitled "Yeah!", is tentatively scheduled for release in May. Guitarist Phil Collen told Billboard.com last year that the album will include "a bunch of stuff — all '70s stuff. Most of it is songs that we grew up with in England. 'No Matter What' by BADFINGER is going to be the leadoff single. We've done 'Waterloo Sunset' by THE KINKS, T. REX, MOTT THE HOOPLE, ROXY MUSIC and THIN LIZZY. And a lot of it is obscure; it's not the standard stuff. It's not like STONES or BEATLES songs."

They're so cute together! I want some cotten candy at the food booth and a deth leppard one armed t-shirt.I actually like some Journey,Steve Perry had a great 80's voice.I also enjoy alot of death/blackmetal singer's as well{Chuck from Death was awsome!}.Shit JohnnyCash had a real cool country voice.I'd much rather see and listen to a dude thrashin out in "corpspaint" oppossed to some glam flake-off in mascarra and fishnet lookin like a fuckin barbie doll and singin like a girl{like the slaugther asshole's for instance}.Diversity means everything in music you fuckin asshole's!!!

...even if you like both bands for different reasons, it's an odd pairing... i'm assuming d.l. will get top billing on this... seen d.l. several times in recent years and they're definitely a tight live band...

...so given d.l.'s latest touring trends, what's on tap for next year? a co-headlining tour with styx? eddie money?

It's comical how some people equate the music they listen to with how tough they are or how tough they perceive others to be. Listening to death metal doesn't make you a bad ass anymore than listening to Journey makes you a pussy... but keep judgeing books by their covers. You'll go far.

still being stubborn. Journey need him as much as priest needed halford. Too bad, if you take away the ballads journey have some rockin songs like stone in love , escape, separate ways. I think their singer now , steve augeri (?) was the singer for tyketto. Could be wrong. I think def leppard is aging well, saw them on the last 2 tours and elliott hasn,t lost his voice. The rest of the band were very animated except for campbell who gives off a wish i was anywhere but here vibe. He is just their for the paycheck.

anyway you want it and separate ways,
at least as far as the
solos go, their is a ringing sustain,
especially separate ways,
where the notes carry/ring/sustain.

Palm mute is the exact opposite,
hence the use of the term "mute",
to dampen, to make the
note(s) not ring, make the notes
die off quickly. I haven't tried
to play either song, but I really
don't think there is much palm
muting in either.

There are mute techniques with
the fretboard hand though.

Classic palm muting..
Van Halen's ain't talkin bout love
from a melody standpoint,
and countless rock/metal songs with palm
muted power chords.

Neil Schon is under rated.
I wouldn't agree that he uses more
than the average palm muting.
In fact, his trademark solos
are using the sustain of a Les Paul
to let notes ring.. getting a
very soulful and melodic vibe in his solos.

The one I miss the most are the tandem
of Steve Clark and Pete Willis. Those two
had great Gibson tone. The early albums
in my opinion should be another genre,
riff metal (in a more classical sense than
stoner metal).

Def Leppard is one of the biggest bands to play live, you like it or not!Even if you don't like it its true.Vivian Campbell and Phill Collen play really good and they have very good songs to play live.If you don't remember Vivian Campbell is the guy playing Holy Diver(yes...the song you were headbanging for years!).Pyromania was the second best selling album in the world. It's not bad to hear some "easy" songs instead of "unholy"black metal and "super malmsteenspeedpower"....and the MILFS yea!they're gonna be there!hehe!Chill out people! It's not a Korn and Nevermore world out there....and Augeri is really professional,he is ok for Journey.
