BLACK SABBATH's ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME Induction to Air On VH1

VH1 will broadcast the March 13 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Tuesday, March 21 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). This year's inductees include heavy metal innovators BLACK SABBATH, new wave rock band BLONDIE, jazz legend and creative genius MILES DAVIS, southern rock mainstays LYNYRD SKYNYRD and British punk pioneers the SEX PISTOLS. Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss, founders of A&M Records will be inducted in the Lifetime Achievement Award in the Non-Performer category. Presenters and special guests will be announced as they are confirmed. From his work with Rainbow, Sabbath and solo, He definitely deserves to be in the Hall just as much as anyone.
The 2 Sab records he made are by far Iommi's most compelling he's ever written and really put Snozzy to shame as far as lead singers go. Actually, Ozzy's one of the crapiest vocalists of all time but his stage presence is undeniable.
Geezer is a great metal bass player. Bill Ward however is an average skinman at best, really. Ward has never been a cutting edge drummer unless he's prepping a fix.
Vinnie Appice is far better. Ian Gillian is a great vocalist but if Sab is in the Hall then Deep Purple shouldn't be far behind.
Considering whose in the Hall and whose not totally give this Hall very little credibility amongst TRUE rock fans.

true, but then again these are the same folks that give metal grammys to Jethro Tull.
I want a Sabbath Tour with all the singers, Ozzy, Dio, Gillan, Hughes and Tony Martin who really is a great metal singer.

- no members of any of Sabbath's post-important-period line-ups will be included here. No matter who you may or may not like more, Sabbath's first four albums set the template for heavy metal as we know it. Anything after that - including the last couple of dogs with Ozzy - were just more metal albums an the metal album dogpile.
Regarding the HOF - who cares?

Born Again isn't the best Sabbath album, but it's easily the best Ozzy-less sabbath album. Love Dio, but he didn't fit Sabbath IMO.

it's a shame in a year that 2 truly talented and deserving bands like skynyrd and sabath are being inducted and we have to hear about the talentless twats who are also being inducted but are choosing thankfuly not to show up. I will never understand how people who could not play thier instraments or sing are being granted this honor while true talent like rush are ignored. I refuse to spend any of my hard earned money to go visit this critics museum.

hmm. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is my #1 Sabbath album, personally.
and personally i don't give a shit about the Hall. but i will say this regarding all the bands listed for this year....don't give a shit about Sabbath getting in. then again, Ozzy's tarnished his legacy so much now he practically belongs in that joke of an institution now.....i don't give two shits about Blondie.....i hate, i mean i really really fucking DESPISE Lynyrd Skynyrd always have always will.....indifferent about Sex Pistols, like how they're not gonna be there, but pretty indeifferent about them......and the guys from A&M, well, not too big on big label executive types, but hey they had Soundgarden on their label for awhile, so i guess they had some brains and eye for talent on at least one occasion outside of some good business skills to get where they are.

Never heard of Jeff Fenholt and who the fuck is John Gillan...LOL. People please Sabbath is one of the greatest bands of all time and the shit I've read thus far on this thread is fucking hilarious. Every singer Sabbath has had in their history have made great contributions to the Sabbath legacy.

Singers who I did Not Mention:
Dave Walker: Never officially released anything with BS
Glenn Hughes: I don't like his style and I thought he wasn't very good even though Seventh Star was considered an Iommi solo record.
And good ol' Jeff Fenholt (just did my research on this guy) the dude was in Sabbath for about 6 months during the Seventh Star recording and claims he wrote some of the stuff.

Three people including myself chose all three Sabbath albums with Dio at the helm as their top choices yet Dio gets no respect for his work with BS. Ozzy is undoubtedly the voice of BS but, you can't deny Dio, all three records he recorded are great.

the sex pistols should not even be in there.....they made one record and it sucks....singers who sing like there puking into a microphone are the worse....what are they most famous for there bass player doing enough smack to get england high killing his girlfreind and then o'ding himself.... the singer puts on this front like he is this anarchist or some shit...but you know in private he's some high fulluting nose in the air snob drinking expensive wine....and as far as sabbath not performing.....ozzy won't do anything for less then 2 million....ozzy just doesen't want to people to see him piss his old man droors....hahaha...dude pisses himself live that is why he douses himself with water live.....even though i hate the sex pistols they should be there.....the clash showed up,and they were a 100 times better band then the sex pistols....and sabbath not playing is the ultimate slap in the face to there hard-core fans......the only way ozzy is getting anymore of my money....is if he puts his fuckin wife in a dunk tank and charges to throw balls at the target.....i would show up with 100 dollar bills....by the timw i would be done she would be watter logged...hahaha... she is the devil.......ozzy is her minion bitch....ahhahahahaha....

Three people out of 3 million think the 3 Dio Sabbath albums are better, so why doesn't everybody respect it more???
Bill Ward has a style all his own, no one plays drums like him. He might not be the fastest or play backwards paradiddles or whatever, but he puts his mark on every Sabbath recording he's been on.
Ozzy's gift isn't his range, it's his sense of melody. He is the one that came up with all the great melodies.

i dont know if any of these guys are in there already, but they need to be there and were more important to the ''metal'' scene than Black Sabbath was.........all three of these bands pre-date Black Sabbath by a few yrs......with out these bands in the ''rock and roll'' hall of fame it should be torn down......
