SUICIDAL TENDENCIES: New Album Is 'Sounding Great'

SUICIDAL TENDENCIES have posted the following message on their official web site:
"The new stuff is sounding great. We're real excited at how it's all come together. Paul Northfield [producer of new SUICIDAL TENDENCIES album] flew home and we're gonna live with the tracks for awhile, and he'll be back next month to make any changes and do the final mixes.
"We've been getting a lot of emails about the title of the record. We have a couple ideas for title and artwork, but we're gonna wait till the music is all done and deal with it then.
"The live DVD footage is looking insane! The editing is coming along great and what we've seen so far is killer!
"As for INFECTIOUS [GROOVES], we started work back on the new INFECTIOUS GROOVES. Steve [Brunner, bass] is now on tour in Indonesia (be safe), and Ron [Brunner Jr.] (playing drums with Stanley Clarke) just got back from India etc. Dean's [Pleasants] been throwing down some sick new guitar work and when Steve gets back he'll finish his bass. There's always some other craziness going on at studio, we'll fill you in on the newest artist and releases on Suicidal Records shortly.
"Lastly, we looking for a couple people that were at the Olympic show [on October 29, 2005]. The couple that was filming the riot police after the show and the guy that had filmed the cops a couple blocks away from the Olympic putting on the riot gear, please email us. Or if you or anyone else you know has footage outside the Olympic, please email us and let us check it."

According to Mike Muire himself, S.T. were never a "metal" band. He stated in numerous interviews after their hiatus and prior the release of Freedumb that he never felt comfortable with the "metal"-label and being part of the Clash Of The Titans billing. So it doesn't surprise me that the latest couple of S.T. albums are more punk in the vein of their earliest stuff than more "metal" sounding albums like How Will I Laugh Tomorrow or Suicidal For Life.
Although I think that their best release was Lights Camera Revolution, I never considered them to be "metal" (more like crossover, if anything) and I don't expect them to return to that sound. And as much as I love Rocky George's playing on the best S.T. releases, Dean Pleasants isn't too shabby, either...

I agree that "How Will I Laugh is one one the greatest albums ever....definitely one of my favorites.
As for you Metallica = not metal stuff, I can't say that I agree with you there. Oh well, at least you like ST, so you aren't a complete douchebag. :-D

Finally, can't wait for a new ST release. And with the Brunner brothers in the band i doubt it will sound like 80-ish, it will probably be something you don't expect, something different but still S.T.

ST is a fuckin classic band!!!! can't wait for the new shit, Tru is bad ass but they can do without, punk-metal-hybrid-crossover whatever, I dig their shit no matter what.

Hi
My favourite album is the 1st one...phukkin vicious hardcore! I I have alot of respect for this band though, even though i just cannot connect to metal. Mike might play metal sometimes ...but at least the lyrics are punk as phuk!
I wish they would remove the funk element though...leave that for Infectious please!
