SCOTT WEILAND Says AXL ROSE Is A 'Fat, Botox-Faced, Wig-Wearin' F*ck'

VELVET REVOLVER/ex- STONE TEMPLE PILOTS frontman Scott Weiland has slammed GUNS N' ROSES singer Axl Rose for his comments in a recent press release where he claimed that in October of 2005, VELVET REVOLVER/ex- GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash visited Axl's house at 5:30 one morning and said he wanted to "end the war" with Rose. Rose alleged that Slash tore into his current bandmates in VELVET REVOLVER, calling singer Weiland a "fraud," saying that he "hates" drummer Matt Sorum and describing bassist Duff McKagan as "spineless." The press release stated, "It would have been Axl's preference to resolve disputes with Slash and Duff in private...However, Axl could no longer sit quietly and allow the continuing dissemination of falsehoods and half-truths by his former bandmates." Responding to Axl's comments, Weiland wrote in an open letter, "Get in the ring. Go to the gym, motherfucker, or if you prefer, get a new wig, motherfucker. I think I'll resist the urge to 'stoop' to your level. Oh shit, here it comes, you fat, botox-faced, wig-wearin' fuck! O.K., I feel better now. "Don’t think for a second we don't know where those words came from. Your unoriginal, uncreative little mind — the same mind that had to rely on its bandmates to write melodies and lyrics. Who's the fraud now, bitch? "Damn, I couldn't imagine people writing for me. How many albums have you put out, man, and how long did it take the current configuration of this so-called 'band' to make this album? How long? And without the only guys that validated the name. "How dare you! Shame on you! How dare you call our bass player 'spineless?' We toured our album over a year and a half. How many shows have you played over the last ten years? Oh, that's right — you bailed out on your long-awaited comeback tour, leaving your remaining fans feeling, shall we say, a trifle miffed?! I won't even list what I've accomplished because I don't need to. What we're talking about here is a frightened little man who once thought he was king, but unfortunately this king without his court is nothing but a memory of the asshole he once was." Scott Weiland is obviously jumping on the bandwagon started recently by Bon Jovi. It must really chap their asses to realize that after 13 years more people would still rather talk about Axl (be it good or bad) than them. I think thats a tribute to Axl's status as a rock start. Being a rock star has always been about being able to divide people. To be huge you have to get half the world to hate you and the other have to love you. Thats how it works. All of these recent bashing press releases are just part of the game. Lets not kid ourselves, Rock was never about the same thing as metal. Where metal, true metal, will always be about pushing to greater extremes, and as a consequence going more and more unterground...rock, on the other hand, is mainly a game of popularity. Rock was always supposed to be fun music, rather than artistic. Part of the fun of rock is the scandal surrounding it. And this is mainly why we don't like all the shitty bands being played on the radio today. They are too tame.
As for this article, Scott has come nerve to call Axl out in this case. For all of Axl's problems i'd say that Scott has more. He should probably be worried about himself.

Rock music has always been an industry, agree or not, idiot. The greatest bands (Zeppelin, Sabbath, Purple) produced their best albums within the "power". Rock music isn't about being commercial or not, it's just about playing good stuff. VR and GNR may be hugely commercial, they did great stuff, period.

I played in bands and lived in Hollywood all in the 80's and have even played with GnR on the same bill back in the day, and Axl is not a tuff fighter, what a joke,
I have seen him get in a physical fight in person right in front of me. My singer was the same way. They are spoiled rich cry babies and can not fight that well, yes maybe kick some
glam pussy rocker Hollywood guys ass but not a real guy who is really tough,,, any one who thinks Axl is a bad ass I am laughing because he is not.

Man, Bon Jovi must be pissed! Everywhere you look someone's talking about Axl lately.
Could this all be staged to help sell albums? Chinese Democracy and the new Velvet Revolver are rumored to be comming soon. Last I heard, Slash was praising Axl's musical talent and Chinese Democracy, and Axl was praising Slash's talents. Then a couple of weeks later, the fued is on again?
One thing that probably went un-noticed was the comment about how long it took Axl's new band to finish the album. More confirmation that is does exist, and it's actually finished. Aside from people in night clubs, both Weiland and Slash have said they heard the new album, so it's real.
I am curious about the comments about Axl needed his band to write his music for him. It kind of makes you wonder, what did take so long to finish the album. It doesn't take 10 years to make a record. Was he working on it? Did he just have nothing without the rest of GNR around to help him write? I love Axl, but how can he continue to come out every few months promising a new CD "soon", when he knows the public thinks he's a joke because "soon" has been 10 years. He's like that kid in class who never has his work done but keeps promising to have it "tomorrow". Eventually you just know he's full of shit.
I think it all just comes down to Axl being insane. I love the guy, but he's insane. Dude's got some problems. He's just too flakey, he'll start recording an album, then forget about it for awhile. Form a new band and not do anything with it. Go on tour and decide he didn't want to play every show and just not bother showing up.
Axl's great, and I love the new music ...but the guy's insane.

I remember them on Vh1 saying even Slash said it that Axl wrote the lyrics to Sweet Child o mine i also find it funny that the band members complain about songs like November rain if they didnt write em then who did, Axl. I am as old school GNR as it gets as I mentioned previously I bought AFD the day it come out, not a hand me down a year later when they are already bigger than the Beatles.
GNR was an LA band on Geffen.
Slash looked like Joe Perry.
Joe Perry is in Aeromsmith, also in geffen at the time.
I like Aerosmith, label mates, influenced by them, from LA = I had to check these guys out.
Of course, within an hour of getting home I called every one of my friends to hear this new band.
Like others, I got mocked at first until 1988 when all of a sudden they became a patch.
Anyhow, as far as Weiland goes, I have liked most of his work, but he honestly is the last guy who should run his mouth.
This guy tries combine Vedder, Bowie, Morrisson and Jagger into one - he hasn't got a lick of originality to him. His unique "musical talent" is running his smack $$ maker into a megaphone - Jimmy Hart could do this much.
As much as I like Weiland, it's the equivalent of, say, Britney Spears opening her mouth about Jewel.

I didnt assume you were 21 as such, you know how usernames work. My mistake i appoligise.
As for the hand me downs, i am from the UK so you should know that the buzz never caught on here until 89' with Sweet Child and Paradise City. Plus the fact i was only 10 in 88 so i can be forgiven for accepting hand me downs. By the way you are the same age as my sister who origianaly got me hooked.
I got mocked until 91' with the illusion albums so you know how it feels, a real shitter let me tell you. The same dickheads who used to call me a hippy were the same dickheads who started wanking over Asshole Rose in his fucking skirts. On the WTTJ Vid i always thought it was something to do with Asshole first coming to LA in his Gypsy shit then getting into his glam stuff but i could be wrong. The man changed his image as quick as his ego grew so who knows. Good video though but my hero was Slash so i never took too much notice what Asshole was doing.
On the Weiland thing, i was never a STP fan so i honestly cant judge him, although i always thought he was an eddie Vedder rip off in the begining but a good singer, now i think he has so much more than Axl only due to the fact that Asshole hasnt bothered to get off his lazy fat arse in 12 years. His "Album" is running into millions of $ and it wouldnt surprise me if every Asshole Rose lover is still talking about "Chinese Democracy" in another fucking 10 years. Maybe he may make a comeback like Brian Wilson and take 35 years to record his "Album" who knows, by that time China will have a fucking Democracy along with Iraq,Afganistan and Palestine. We will all be pissing ourselves laughing at a 60 year old Asshole Rose wearing Adult Diapers and a skirt singing "Welcome to the Jungle" in his nursing home whilst trying to do the old serpant dance in his zimmer frame. Hey ill pay to see that one. At least the fucker couldnt walk off.

I'll be the forst to admit, Axl has done some questionable things, but I know where he's coming from.
Why would Axl cater to fans ?
The same fans who viciously turned on him when, after having made his epic Illusion albums, berated him for not making AFD part 2 ?
You know, I prefer AFD to the Illusions, but I can respect the effort and brilliance that went into them.
And given that there was bound to be backlash no matter what (regardless of their merit, they would have been lumped in with 80's bands because they broke out of L.A. - the backlash was more against the scene - the exces had enough of headstrong types and wanted submissive pansies hence the grunge movement and handouts to the depressed generation) I don't blame him for disappearing.
Why not ?
You get to the top on your own terms.
It becomes a bigger pain in the ass than you imagined reference Locomotive on Illusion II) - people making shit up just to sell magazines and turning band vs band, artist vs artist (Get in the Ring he references this), and the sheepish fans falling into it, and start badmouthing you because some journalist made some shit up.
Leave on your own terms, making people wait, instead of getting forced away (remember the episode of Seinfeld and showmanship - leave em wanting more?)
I'll admit, for a while I was in the "Axl" is a dick club, then I got a little older and came to respect what he did - I lived in a small town where I was Mr Istheshit - typical story - local football legend, notorious partier, known by everyone.
And I can tell you this much - when I was younger, I loved it. I really did.
Then as I got a little older, I couldn't handle it anymore - a trip to the gym required me to dedicate 4.5 hours because the gym was located in a very central area, so I'd pass by loads of people that I knew (some that I didn't, and just thought they knew me because they heard my name in stories) and it became a game of mundane chatter, having to stop and talk.
Sometimes, I just wouldn't be chatty and just wanted to go workout, but all of a sudden I was a snob.
You want to go get a coffee, and there's 1/2 dozen people you know. It's not like you don't like them - you just might be in a non chatty moood, so you give a nod and keep going and all of a sudden you are an asshole ? That's a terrible way to have to live.
Once I hit 29, I'd had all I could take of that existence, so I packed my shit up and moved to a nice quiet little French town where the only people I know are my woman, her family, and my co-workers (who all live 50 miles away in the city and commute)
Now, I can go to the grocery store and be back home inside of 1 hour and let me tell you, it's a great feeling.
And I am just a small town nobody.
Imagine being someone the likes of Axl in the day where the entire GLOBE knew who he was (thought they knew)? Everybody had a money making agenda off him, whether it was being a "yes" man or someone pushing his buttons to get him worked up for a photo op.
Fans felt like he owed them something and if he was tired and didn't sign that 100th autograph, then all of a sudden he's an asshole ??
I understand why he did it, but I can never truly know what it must have been like.
Besides, look at the song titles on the Illusions and read lyrics while listening to the music.
He told us all about it - from his feelings about the biz to being on the verge of going into hiding.
We, who some of us chose to ignore it, really have no right abuse him for it
It sucks as fans we haven't had any music in over a decade, but look at the bright side - this guy was able to avoid being the record label's bitch, and made the label his bitch, doing things on HIS terms, and for that, he will release an honest Axl product, not some bubblegum-made-to-sell-to-my-socermom-fans crap that Bon Jovi has been churning out since, well, Slippery.
Or, not some half assed attempt to cross breed GNR with STP and market it as a supergroup.
I dunno - as I have gotten older I have come to appreciate his position. The rockstar life is a shitty shitty life, contrary to how glamourous the suits make it out to be - you just want to make music, but people are trying to build you up only to tear you down. Fans, who think they know you ebcause they listened to your songs and saw your interviews calling you this and that.
Terrible.
ONe might say "if you don't like it, get out".
Well, that's what he did - he skipped out for a while.
I find no harm in that.
I can guarantee you Chi Dem will be out this year, and I can guarantee it will be out before July.
I can also guarantee it will be better than the Illusions.
However, I can also equally guarantee that a flock of morons will say it sucks simply because Slash and Duff aren't on it.
That's called neurosis - when you make a concious decision to not not like something when your senses are telling you it's good.
But people seem to lose sight of one little thing - there never HAS been a real Guns N Roses.
It's ALWAYS been Axl and his hired guns.
Or should I say, the hired GUNS N Axl ROSES' band.
Guns N roses was Axl and Tracii Guns who wrote AFD with he and Izzy. Tracii was paid off, enter Slash who added a few touches.
Exit Steven, enter Matt and Dizzy for the Illusions, plus numerous guests such as Mike Monroe, Alcie Cooper, Shannon Hoon, Paul Huge (a member of the current GNR) West Arkeen etc.
It's always been a rotating door ensemble cast.
I respect the hell outta Slash's ability to play, but he cannot write to save his life (like Steve Vai) unless he has Axl or Izzy or someone telling him what to play, taking the lead.
Listen to Izzy's solo albums and you'll know what I mean.
Hell, listen to Snakepit or even VR and you'll see loads of recycled stuff from his GNR days. It's 5 O Clock Somewhere is essentially Illusion rejects. Hell, they even had to bring Izzy in to write some stuff for VR.
Axl is a mess and is twisted, but there's no doubt he was 1/2 the brains in GNR, with Izzy being the other half.
In the end, you cannot blame Axl, really. They had a landmark debut and all eyes were on them and enormous pressure, and he made it clear he didn't want to live off AFD, yet his bandmates were still drunken messes not taking things too seriously. What better way to ensure you don't spend the rest of your life as that one album than to make a landmark double album with EPIC songs and videos, adn then disappear for a decade.
Anyhow, I have rambled enough and I am sure I lost 1/2 of you a while ago.

Scott is a total waste and the whole world would rather have Slash, Duff and Axl back together than have Velvet Revolver exist any longer...fuck the rest of the world would rather have CHINESE DEMOCRACY than another Velvet Revolver record...AXL RULES!!!!! He was the heart and soul of Gn'R and wrote the best fucking songs....Slash has already proved he was one of the weaker links in Gn'R with Velvet Revolver...his a great guitar player when Axl writes his songs for him...other wise he is boring and uninspired....Axl Rose is Guns and Roses...THE END!

What's really pathetic about this whole discussion is that these Guns N' Roses fans have got to be at least in their mid-30s yet they write comments like a semi-retarded 12-year-old.
Wake up bitches. Axl is old, Slash is old, Guns N' Roses is old, and so are you. They sucked in their heyday (along with the rest of the bullshit 80s music) and they'll suck whenever this new album comes out. I've heard stepped-on cats make more pleasant sounds then those that come out of the vocal chords of Axl Rose. His style of "singing" passed along the wayside a long time ago. Nobody wants to hear that shit anymore except old coots like you who so deserately want to believe they haven't lost touch. Well, you have. Sorry.
