Original JUDAS PRIEST Frontman Interviewed For Upcoming Documentary

Original JUDAS PRIEST frontman Al Atkins was interviewed for a film documentary on Monday (March 13) at The Madhouse in Birmingham, England. Al was interviewed by Roy Jones (ex- SHY bassist) and owner of the establishment. They talked about the early years of rock music and the beginnings of JUDAS PRIEST all the way up to the current metal scene. Also interviewed on the night were Bob Catley ( MAGNUM), Brian Tatler ( DIAMOND HEAD) and Pete Way ( UFO). Roy and his wife Jackie run The Madhouse, which is said to be the top rehearsal place for all rock bands in and around Birmingham. As previously reported, Atkins will be joined by SEVEN WITCHES/ex- SAVATAGE axeman Jack Frost during his appearance at "The Voices of Metal" festival, which is scheduled to take place in May or June. Atkins and Frost will be playing songs from Al's new solo album, "Demon Deceiver", plus a couple of SEVEN WITCHES songs. Check out a photo of Atkins and Frost at the NAMM convention in Anaheim, California in January. No further details are available at this time. Atkins recently released a new promotional DVD. Produced by Mpeguk Ltd, the set (released on DVD-R) includes music videos of three selected tracks off his new CD, "Demon Deceiver - The Sin Sessions": the title track, "Demon Deceiver", "Cradle to the Grave" and the JUDAS PRIEST classic "Victim of Changes". The musicians include BUDGIE guitarist Simon Lees, DANTE FOX guitarist Mike de Jager, Emms, drummers Mick Hales and Adrian Badlands, and guitarist Chris Johnson. The videos include footage shot during the recording of the tracks at MAGNUM's Madhat Studios, JB's Live Music Venue and during Al's tour of the U.S. Check out sample clips at www.mpeguk.com. Al has recorded "Victim of Changes" three times on different albums over the last 15 years since he turned solo. "This time it's a much shorter and faster version than before. It's fucking awesome," Atkins said. Also appearing on the album is a song called "Drown", which is said to be a duet between Al and Kansas-based vocalist/guitarist Johnny Lokke.

Dennis Stratton (guitar- in Iron Maiden for about 15 minutes)
Mark "St. John" Norton (guitar- in KI$$ for a few days)

They can call their band "Coulda Woulda Shoulda". They can re-record "Victim Of Changes", "Working Man", "Phantom Of The Opera", "Heaven's On Fire", and "Metal Thrashing Mad".

That' s right. The guy saw some text written in foreign language and thought immediately that it must be some damn mexican who wants to steal his girlfriend from him. Now, that' s what I would call a racist attitude. Then again, he knew that there' s other countries in this world besides the U.S. so maybe there' s some hope left even for him. Who knows what he will learn in the future, maybe he will even be able to tell the difference between Mexico and Finland. Well, I don' t actually believe that it would ever happen, but I' m trying to be positive here.
Seriously, I don' t see any mention here that all the posts should be written in english. Some posts in finnish shouldn' t upset anybody. Look at it this way : You don' t have to learn english to buy a Judas Priest CD or a concert ticket. Rock music is an international thing.

two of his solo albums from the past, agreed why did this guy pop out of the woodwork in the late 80s 15 years after he was out of priest, hes just using there name to get some publicity. his solo stuff that i have is not that good.

In Finland for example, I think there' s always a lot of people in metal concerts who don' t speak english very well, but I also think that doesn' t bother them much. The music is there, the vocals are there, so, if they understand only half of the lyrical content that doesn' t take anything essential away from the concert experience.
Well, another interesting thing of course is, that when english people are listening to the english band Cradle of Filth, they too can understand only half of the lyrics ... so, I guess the most important thing is the musical power.

Theres more than 1 coat tail being ridden here - Jack Frost probably contributed less in Savatage than Atkins did in Priest. Either way neither of them are worthy of news.

I got into recording music on my PC a while back. I didnt realise that the best guitar sample website in the world was the same guy playing for this dude!
