AVENGED SEVENFOLD Still Quiet On OZZFEST Involvement

Launch Radio Networks reports: Although it's widely believed that AVENGED SEVENFOLD is the yet-to-be-named "mystery" band on Ozzfest this summer, the band is keeping mum about its involvement for now. But guitarist Zacky Vengeance told Launch that the group is excited about what it's got in store for June, after finishing a U.S. run with COHEED AND CAMBRIA. "After we get back from COHEED, we're thinking that we need to go back to Europe because we want to be a band that takes over the world and doesn't leave any uncharted territory," he said. "So we actually got offered to tour with just about our favorite band in the history of the world in Europe for the month of June. I think we're gonna be going out with METALLICA as their main support."
METALLICA has at least eight European festival dates lined up for June, although AVENGED SEVENFOLD has not yet been confirmed for any of those dates.
The Ozzfest mystery band will be revealed on May 23.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD will play this Saturday (March 18) at the Global Gathering festival in Miami, Florida before beginning its co-headlining tour with COHEED AND CAMBRIA on April 7 in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Life would be awesome for some of us old school metal heads if some how Sabbath with Dio performed. Ya..i know why the hell would Sharon book Dio with Sabbath..whatever just a dream. and since ozzy isnt even coming to Detroit (so far from what's been posted) i couldnt care a less for this tour. If fact, even if ozzy did, id hesitate cuz of the outrageous prices.

Found out last weekend from an Ozzfest organizer that Avenged WILL be the mystery band. Not so much of a mystery now is it? Oh well, better luck next year.

ozzfest without even having ozzy play for the full tour. thats pretty gay, but its funny because he will probably end up having to cancel a few of the 10 shows anyway. the 2nd stage is full of hardcore shit as its been the passed few years the mainstage has its nu metal. the funniest thing is the only band thats even remotely interesting to me is lacuna coil. 2004 was the best year and it can never be done again

This band sucks, 95% of the bands at this years Ozzfest suck balls. System of a Down? SHIT. Disturbed? Not as much of shit as SOAD but still TURDNESS. Avenged Sevenfold, is as lame as the names they make up for themselves, Zaky Vengeance=SHIT next theyll have a new member that does programming and his name will be Winnie McCumslurper. The only bands worth seeing that I know about is Strapping Young Lad, All That Remains and Lacuna Coil. Fuck it, Ill go to Sounds of the Underground.

I don't care what anyone else says.....I would be more than happy if Avenged signs onto Ozzfest...that will make the third time I have seen them this year. I realize I'm in a cheering section of one, but I don't give a fuck. And most of us will never even get the chance to stand next to a member of Metallica, let alone open up for one of their crowds. and they are obviously doing something right if their shows are sold out and they are being offered tour after tour. but I guess according to some of the posts that just means that all of us have no taste in music. what ever, I don't have the need to stereo-type and I don't have want for all my music to sound the same. Music, just like life, is an ever changing and evolving process, and you can't stop change.

opener: i'd have maybe Chimaira, God Forbid, Lamb of god, Machine Head(as long as they play a set with NO songs off of The Burning Red or Supercharger), or Shadows Fall.....to start off the day. have any of them play select dates....my reasoning? i love all those bands, yes, but them on the bill might be an extra incentive for fans of bands like that who only like maybe one or two bands on my bill to actually come and experience in my opinion a day that'd blow their fucking minds and get people past JUST this 'new wave of american metal' or whatnot and Headbangers Ball type-stuff and convert at least a few people to the bands on the bill and get into more heavy fucking stuff. it'd serve a purpose.

Im really looking forward to Ozzfest this year. I think that A7X wouldnt be a good mainstage band but maybe for one of the other stages. I mean no one really goes to the other stages anyways. The main stage is the shit people want to hear. Ozzy fucking rocks but isnt he getting a little too old for this???

How old are you people? A bunch of 12 year olds talking crap on message boards. What does A7X have too much talent to be on Ozzfest? The second stage lineup is sweet! but the main stage sucks with the exceptions of SOAD, Hatebreed, and of course Ozzy (which is more about respect than talent). A7x is bringing old school metal back in a big way. Zacky Vengance and Sinister Gates are two of the most talented guitar players I've heard since metal died in like 1992.

well i have to say Avenged Sevenfolds new cd sucks ass but i love there old stuff before the singer lost his voice and can to the screeming stuff anymore.... and for that reason they shouldnt be touring on ozzfest it should have been tool or NIN maybe even fear factory just someone bigger then Avenged Sevenfold...
