WHITESNAKE have been confirmed for this year's Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place August 3-5 in Wacken, Germany. The billing is now shaping up as follows (in alphabetical order):

What are the organisers thinking this year?!
Wacken has always been about the extreme, and we are subjected to this pish?
Whitesnake were fantastic in 1984, but that was then.
Coverdale is just a Robert Plant-wannabe bible-bashing knob-sack now. I hate him.
If he were to reform the Slide It In lineup however, I may be convinced otherwise.
The way this festival is shaping up, I can see myself venturing into the tent of the obscure on many occasions.

...are a damn good band. Even if it is only David Coverdale and hired hands...the hired hands are great at what they do.
Bring them on, and only a few days behind announcing it on Blabbermouth as well..

Honestly, I go to Wacken for the whole experience. The lineup this year is pretty kick ass and has a decent variety. Last year, I mainly went for Sentenced and Bloodbath but beyond htem there were only 4 or 5 bands I wanted to see. However, being at Wacken is worth it every damn year and I will fly my ass tehre no matter what the cost!

..enough time to add some Thrash in there.
I like the lineup. Mostly heavy with some good quality old school bands like Whitesnake, Schenker and Scorpions in the mix.

metalblade70 Have you ever been at wacken, wacken is about heavy metal, not only the extreme. Thats what makes it so great. one true metal stage and one black stage for the extreme music.

Whitesnake have some great songs. Cloverdale is a great frontman.

whitesnakes 2006 line up are going to get there asses kicked at this show. if it was the 77 to 84 line up that would be a whole other story. david can still sing but shit man get it back to the old days when you ruled...........
