AUDIOSLAVE: New Album Title Revealed

According to RollingStone.com, AUDIOSLAVE have set "Revelations" as the title of their third album, due in June. For the follow-up to last year's "Out of Exile", singer Chris Cornell wanted to explore a vocal style he feels closest to but has never touched on before: R&B. "I love rock music, but my favorite singers are not in rock bands," Cornell confessed. "They're Stevie Wonder, Mavis Staples, the CHAMBER BROTHERS." Cornell's new role as a family man has had just as great an influence on his songwriting and his life. "As I'm getting older and I have children and my life is definitely settling down more, I'm really about family," he said. "When I'm not in the studio making records with AUDIOSLAVE, I'm at home with my wife and my kids," he continued. "So there are a lot of songs where I mention them — where maybe the subject is about something else, but they're in there. My family is my chief concern." Read more at RollingStone.com.

Out of exile was total crap due to them taking this total pussified ballad approach. All the demos and the official release of the first album were pretty good. Everythign since has been crap.
hello? yes they did the reason they are doing another one so quick is so they can try and stay relevant and make some money on the failed "out of exile."

some of his solo stuff - as well as his performances on a few Soundgarden songs - kinda had a R&B feel; "Follow My Way" and "Mind Riot" come to mind. Looking forward to this.

i really hope cornell does some good vocals on this one he really can be the greatest singer ever when he wants to be. well, besides halford, but that's like apples and oranges really, they do totally different things.

is not bad at all..... but their entire approach to music is (starting to become) as commercial as fuck. R&B ?? Chris ?? So you prefer other music/singers over rock? What is it you've been doing your entire life? Yes... rock you bastard.

personally, i think the major problem is cornell's voice....as he's gotten older his voice has gotten higher and it sounds like shit when he tries to wail....i swear when he screams he sounds like david coverdale on the coverdale/page album.

Audioslave is hopelessly boring. Cornell's voice has always annoyed me and most people I know once he starts that yelling crap of his. Cornell is a bizarre match for the RATM rythm section. I mean, a rap band with a "grunge" vocalist. What's next, is Eddie Vedder going to team up with the members of Limp Bizkit and start a new band?

The songs are incredibly stale, Cornell sounds like ass, Tom's fucking too much with the gadgets, and the rhythm section sounds bored.
