Former HELLOWEEN Singer To Release New Solo Album In May: Audio Available - Mar. 27, 2006
Frontiers Records will release former HELLOWEEN singer Michael Kiske's new solo album, simply entitled "Kiske", on May 19.

Featuring Karsten NagelMichael's old schoolmate — on drums and Sandro Giampietro and Fontaine Burnett on guitars and bass, respectively, "Kiske" is said to be a very personal statement — from the beginning to the end. "The best way of describing what this record stands for in my mind and personal world would be: it's a health-careless and musically free!" said Kiske in less-than-perfect English. "I somehow managed to break down or overcome more subconscious barriers as a songwriter this time. I was able to write and produce a record that could either be a nice ending or beginning for a new career.'

Michael wanted to tirelessly explore his more melodic and straightforward roots, in the process producing a record that is completely free from all pressure and that could portrait the artist in its most personal musical statements.

"Kiske" track listing:

01. Fed By Stones
02. All-Solutions
03. Knew I Would
04. Kings Fall
05. Hearts Are Free
06. The King Of It All
07. Sing My Song
08. Silently Craving
09. Truly
10. Painted
11. Sad As The World

Along with the release of the new studio record, Michael Kiske has worked out a deal with Frontiers Records to reissue his first solo album, "Instant Clarity", which originally came out in 1996. This 2006 reissue will be sold as part of a mid-price series and will include three newly recorded bonus tracks and the original Japan-only bonus track.

"Instant Clarity" reissue track listing:

01. Be True To Yourself
02. The Calling
03. Somebody Somewhere
04. Burned Out
05. New Horizons
06. Hunted
07. Always
08. Thanx A Lot!
09. Time's Passing By
10. So Sick
11. Do I Remember A Life?
12. A Songs Is Just A Moment *
13. I Don't Deserve Love +
14. Sacred Grounds +
15. Can't Tell +

The sad thing is he could have been a metal legend but he turned his back on the scene, now he won't leave a legacy but those samples were OK to my ears.

Good luck to him, his performace on Live In The UK with Helloween is legendary.

Great great voice, sad to see it go to such a waste. If anyone heard him sing on that Edguy single, he was incredible on that. That's how he SHOULD sound. If this guy was still in a metal band, I would easily buy anything he put out.

stay M E T A L (kiske, do the right thing and come back, its what the fans want)

It's friday night jersey...and the PRIEST IS BACK.

I've just heard the samples and with all honesty they don't sound that bad. I thought it'd be as terrible as supared. This could be his best solo album so far (not including Place Vendome album which has kick ass material!!!)

I appreciate talent regardless of the genre. Kiske's got an amazing voice whether he's singing metal, pop, the fuckin' phone book, his laundry list, whatever.

Would I like to hear more metal from him? Of course, but I'll support him because I dig his voice. And it's also great to see how many of you knuckledraggers get bent out of shape because he stands up and does what he believes in. Is it just me or isn't individuality and personal power what metal is supposedly all about? He stands up and gives the finger to the industry and you slag him for it? Hypocrites.

With the exception of SupaRed (which is bloody good) I don't think much of Kiske's solo work. But I respect it as half decent poppish rock.

May he keep the guest appearances coming.

"Dance with the one that brung ya" ? Kiske should have heeded those words! Yes, many other "stars" dabble in fields outside their main ones(Ozzy/painting) (Bruce Dickinson/writing/flyinf/fencing) for example..but at the end of the day they knew which side their bread was buttered on! True, Kiske is still technically singing but to turn his back on Heavy Metal and expect the fans to care or buy his treasonous tinkerings is naive! Begone Kiske!, Sir Dennis has spoken!
