DAVID LEE ROTH: More Ratings Woes

According to the New York Post's "The Starr Report", there are more ratings woes for former VAN HALEN frontman David Lee Roth, who replaced Howard Stern on the "train-wreck" now known as Free FM (92.3). According to preliminary winter ratings, Roth's February Arbitron numbers were only half of what he averaged in January. According to Post radio reporter John Mainelli, Stern had 277,000 listeners at any given moment last December — while Roth had only 32,000 listeners last month.

The only funny part of this radio show is laughing AT them for their lack of creativity, terrible topic selection, and the retards that call in and represent the listener base. The only cool part of his show is the occasional celebrity guest (whom personally I have not even liked them) AND he is a terrible interviewer.
Can't blame him for taking their money though. He sort of gets the last laugh....

I stopped listening a few weeks back. David could have made it all Rock N Roll with girls and other celebrity rockstars and things, but he chose to make it the most monotonous, monotone monstrosity possible. The show sucks. One word review: BORING!

I have XM and just got SIRIUS at work. Once my XM expires I will not be renewing it. SIRIUS has Howard and a better selection of music channels. Only thing it's lacking is MLB..

Clearly Ang has not seen DLR recently or on tour. DLR does not have a guy and he can still fit into the spandex. He just lost his hair.
Free FM is a nationwide JOKE. What the hell are they 'free' from...music? I don't want to hear 18 hours of talk radio, if I did, I would turn on AM.

DLR has been out of VH for over twenty fucking years, its over for him and has been for a long time, everything for the most part that he has done since VH with the exception of Eat Em and Smile has been looked at as a COMPLETE failure.
Lets review:
EEAS, everyone loves it and he out Van Halens VH
Skyskraper: Sucks
A Little Aint Enough: No one cares since grunge is here. Crowds are thin like Daves hair
Filthy Little Mouth: Crap CD with 1 rock song, crap band crap tour he plays clubs
DLR fails in Vegas
Gets back with VH and sings like crap and makes a jerk out of himself
Releases a decent interesting book
Releases DLR band, ok songs but album sounds like garbage
Band tours and DLR plays tired setlist and looks old and beat
Release some cover CD and it sells 8,000 copies in 2 yrs
Gets radio gig and most think he sucks

Of course more people hear Stern, there’s a fat pile of money behind him. He's on a larger network. Roth is certainly not the brightest guy, but nobody has ever said that it takes a PHD to be a good entertainer.
It's comparing apples and oranges in any case, these two distinctly different personalities do not share identical traits. But for the record, DLR is a much bigger star than Stern. However, if Howard put his wonderful voice on a file that actually ten bagillion pancakes it would be a different story entirely.

crusing into Dallas in February, and I thought it
was a great show. Guess it will be cancelled soon.
as far as a VH reunion, it won't happen and that's
a good thing, it would be beyond pathetic.
I want to see Eddie back as much as anyone, but
not at the cost of cheesy Sammy or washed up Dave

face it, radio sucks. if you new yorkers think your radio is bad, then check out chicago's. same garbage, same rehashed jokes, same boring djs that sucked 20 yrs ago, and they still suck now.
think about it...we have this lard-ass named mancow, even bigger tools called mike and kathy in the morning, johnny b, jobo,etc. thank god for sports radio

i love dave but this wa a terrible move in the first place. had he been given a radio show in the 80's when he was ontop of his game or even the early 90's it might have been something.
and to china joe i completly agree. i hate our chicago radio. mancow hasnt been funny for year. johnny b is ok sometimes but seriously come on. the loops ppl are terrible at least they finally got rid of kara the cow. i fucking hated that bitch always lame and always the same. bird. please they should have left that guy in the 70's or w/e hes not funny and his voice makes me want to punch babies.
the only thing worht listening to is tom and lisa on 95.1 and they're in wisconsin! at least they'refunny and fresh. the zone had great morning shit and contests hookups all that. the only good thing about that station leaving is that those assclowns sludge and jimmy novak (the station hopping fuckstick) are out of jobs.

Try Australia. No choice but to turn it off really. At least you guys have some interesting radiojocks to listen to who just may play some metal. We have radio for the 50 year old set 90% of air time. The rest is pop garbage top 10 that makes me want to drive into oncoming traffic. The 'youth' radio station Triple J, plays fucking indie CRAP 99% of the time, and their metal show is on late at night, so the rest of the plebs aren't offended by the racket. Talkback radio is hosted by uninteresting right wing current affairs shit heads with nothing to say. If it wasn't for my mp3 player I may just go insane. Fuck radio!

he interrupts the few guests that he has on. Then he spends the rest of his time using big words to sound like he is very smart. I think he will be off the air within a few months unless he changes his approach.
He is not that bad,but he can not hold a candle to Howard Stern

2) He always has to say "agree or disagree?" to his interviewies or "what do you think of that my Friend?".
3) He usually plays the lamest background music. He played Neutron Dance in the background for God knows how long.
Yes The Pointer Sisters . . .yes the song from Beverly Hills Cops which was released in 1983. Not a bad song in itself but to hear it for 45 minutes straight is pure torture.
4) his guitar player sounds like he's a very good player but the direct signal his sound his guitar has is crap.
5) Animal.
6) No Fred Norris. The secret ingrediant to Howard Stern.
7) He laughs at his own jokes.
8) His guest list is usually pretty lame.
I'm stiill rooting for him and will always respect him, but this thing needs major work. Sometimes he's on but most of the time he's off.

Corolla is a stern wannabe.. he should be FIred after that racist comment ...He is not funny an accident wait to be happen... man he suck... free fm is a backward station.. they fired all the good djs who is funny and talented... but they keep all the boring one with no talent.. don't get me wrong free fm.. The only show that is good is that Tom Lykis show..pad your self in the back for that... but the rest.... man u guys should take a good look at the line up...Especially that fucking prick Corolla... sitting in traffic you know how bad the traffic is in the bay area in the morning?
