WHITESNAKE Mainman Working On New Song Lyrics - Apr. 1, 2006
WHITESNAKE frontman David Coverdale is putting the finishing touches on the lyrics for the four new songs the band will be adding to their upcoming double live album, tentatively due later in the year. The set is currently being assembled and the group are preparing to begin the mixing process. If all goes well, WHITESNAKE may even perform one of the songs on their upcoming tour, which is scheduled to kick off in early May in Japan. European dates will follow through early July. At the moment, no U.S. shows have been scheduled.

As previously reported, David Coverdale is tentatively planning on releasing a video compilation featuring all the WHITESNAKE clips, the COVERDALE/PAGE videos and as-yet-undisclosed "not-so-well-known" clips.

WHITESNAKE recently issued their first single-disc retrospective via Hip-O/Geffen/UMe. Entitled "The Definitive Collection", the CD spans nearly every studio album issued by WHITESNAKE, including their pre-U.S. fame LPs "Snakebite" (1978, with the band's first hit, "Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City"), "Lovehunter" (1979, with "Walking in the Shadow of the Blues" and "We Wish You Well"), "Ready An' Willing" (1980, with the title track) and "Come An' Get It" (1981, with "Don't Break My Heart Again"). Can't wait for the new songs!!! The latest Whitesnake DVD is AMAZING. It's probably one of the highest quality music DVD's I own. It gives you an up close look at David, Doug Aldrich, Marco Mendoza, Tommy Aldridge, Reb Beach & Timothy Drury. A must own DVD is Whitesnake .....Live in the Still of the Night.

Agreed. The DVD is absolutely killer! I like how the new lineup has added a fresh and more "heavy" dimension to some of the old songs. I was blown away by that the last time I saw WS live.
Whitesnake is good quality rock n roll, both the early releases and the newer ones.

ever give coverdale a chance again which is too bad because he still has what it takes. Thats the way the music business and the fickle public operate.

I'm just glad they are putting out new stuff. plus they will have a new full studio album in may/summer 2007 next year. I know david and doug have written some killer stuff!
