GODSMACK To Perform On 'Jay Leno', 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' - Apr. 5, 2006
GODSMACK will be the featured musical guests on NBC-TV's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Wednesday, April 26. They will also perform on ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Thursday, April 27.

As previously reported, GODSMACK's video for their new single, "Speak" (audio: Windows Media), has been posted online at this location. The band teamed up with Las Vegas-based Count's Kustoms for the clip, which was shot on March 7. It was the band’s production crew who found Count's Kustoms through a random search on the Internet. Frontman Sully Erna and the other members of GODSMACK were immediately attracted to the Count's Kustoms vibe, as the video features the Count's signature custom choppers and screaming hot rods from the shop's ghoulish flair.

"Speak" is the first single from GODSMACK's new album, "IV", due on April 25 via Republic/Universal.

In a recent interview with MTV.com, GODSMACK frontman Sully Erna had the following to say about the follow-up to 2003's "Faceless": "It's a killer record, and I'm really curious to see what the public's going to think of it. It's still GODSMACK — I don't think it's lost the integrity of what GODSMACK has built our career off. The toughness of the sound is still there. But we've expanded a little bit more. After 'Faceless', we started to spread our wings a bit and reintroduce guitar solos and stuff like that. The acoustic record [2004's 'The Other Side'] was a departure and it was very well received. It opened up a new audience for us — a lot more adults were coming to the shows, bringing their kids and having a glass of wine. That gave us a permission slip to take it to the next level."

I know this band is popular and very successful, but I just don't get the hype. I don't know. If you pay attention to the lyrics, every song has the word "away" in it. No joke. It's pretty funny. I'm not hating because they're mainstream, but I've heard better rock on the radio. I feel sorry for people who have a passion for music, but don't know there is more out there than what the radio feeds them. I here the same songs on the radio EVERY single day at work, and it drives me crazy while my fellow employees seem to enjoy the HELL out of it. How do they tolerate it. If I hear one more System of a Down song I'm going to snap........... JUST GO AWAY!!! HAHAHAHA!!! Funny stuff Godsmack is.

laughed at when Godsmack were done performing, last time they were on the show. I haven't heard anything from this album except "Truth," which I don't think is that promising. It's too repetitive and in the same vein as past singles.

Am i the only one who thinks it's pretentious when bands number one of their albums? Especially when they include no title of any kind after the number.
IV? pft. It's like they're trying to be Led Zeppelin. Sorry, but Speak is no Stairway to Heaven.

I was into them when the first two albums came out, but grew out of it. Godsmack is good party rock, but that's about it.

I still dig the music, but yes, sully's lyrics can be a bit repetetive at times. Still looking forward to seeing how the rest of the album is. Their Faceless album was pretty sound, I could listen to it all the way through and still like almost all of the songs. Def a great live show when they opened up for Metallica as well, the drum solo was awesome!

a pretty decent band. I like all of their albums, mostly Faceless. If this next album is as good or better than Faceless, then I will be very happy. I know Sully's lyrics can sometimes be boring and cliche, but they are occasionally good. The music itself is what makes this band kick ass.

THEY WRITE SIMPLE ROCK & ROLL SONGS LIKE AC/DC. IT'S MUSIC YOU JUST SIT THERE AND LISTEN TO IN A BAR. IF ANYTHING IT MAKES ME WANT TO KICK SOMEONE'S ASS IN A BAR W/ A POOLSTICK. AC/DC DOES THE SAME THING FOR ME.
AND NO, GODSMACK HAS NOTHING ON AC/DC, SAVE YOUR FUCKING BREATH.
