AEROSMITH Bassist Glad To Help Anti-Violence Organization - Apr. 10, 2006
Launch Radio Networks reports: AEROSMITH bassist Tom Hamilton was one of the featured performers on Friday, April 7 at the annual "Banned In Boston" anti-violence benefit. He portrayed former First Lady Barbara Bush, and it was his fourth appearance in drag, having been Laura Bush, Martha Stewart, and Camilla Parker Bowles in years past, and he's also portrayed the Unabomber, Ted Kaczynski. The event raised money for Urban Improv, which helps young people understand and deal with violence and other issues, and Hamilton told Launch the group's work is really important. "There's a bunch of different programs like this, but it's trying to find a way to do something about violence in the schools," he said. "You know, you can make all the rules you want, and put up metal detectors, and search kid's backpacks and stuff, but the way that's really gonna work to create more safety in the schools is for kids to just feel that there is a way out of these situations."

Hamilton also told Launch he's glad to have the chance to help out some people who are less fortunate than he's been in his life and career. "I just like the idea that it's sort of the well-to-do white community reaching out to the inner-city minority community, and show people that, you know, you can't stereotype," he said. "You know, there's a lot of people who do give a s--t, and not just the people that are in those neighborhoods."

This was the 11th annual "Banned In Boston" show. It puts entertainers, business leaders, and politicians together to poke fun at local and national news stories, all while raising several hundred thousand dollars for Urban Improv's programs in the New England area. More information about the group can be found at UrbanImprov.org.

Why don't Aerosmith try to "improv" their music before thinking about making any improvment in any urban areas but if they really want to make an improvment, they should start by going to surburban areas and tell the white kids that they are not "gangsta" and make their asses pull up their Wrangler jeans that sag down to their ankles.

uhhhhh shitface or whatever your name is, judging by your use of words, you must be around 13, and I suggest if you have any idea what rock is about, you will appreciate Aerosmith.
GARTH BROOKS.......cow-poke son of a bitch. you wanna raddle that shit off, go to a fucking country website and put your two cents in. This is for hard rock news.

Idiots that judge this band on the ballads they release need a clue. PUMP and BOBO are great records, not to mention their early work. Aerosmith is the future of rock music.

People have to attack Tyler's appearence because their is nothing about his talent that anyone can bitch about.

And on a final note, when Aerosmith release their new album, they will rule rock once again in every way.

AGREED. There is nothing more unfortunate than a bunch of urban white kids that wanna be "Gangsta" or whatever. Fuck that.....like a bunch of little 50 Cent wannabe's walking around without a clue.......

But thats the way pop culture is geared today.....sadly

Bobo was a new and exciting idea that Aerosmith was due for. These blues covers were a perfect rendition of how rock should sound and it displayed an energy that is lost in today's rock 'n roll. By Aerosmith being the future, I mean they have gotten in touch with their roots and are heading back in the studio with CLASSIC MUSIC on their mind......With their fan base, anything they put out will be huge. And with the power of a new single and tour, they will continue to re-create and re-vitalize rock music.

And there are a lot of people like that on this site.......ass-fucks that think Meshuggah is better than anything ever created....

UHHHH.....everything Meshuggah has ever made is worth about as much as the liner notes on "Rocks" by Aerosmith
