ALICE IN CHAINS Confirmed For South Dakota's STURGIS MOTORCYCLE RALLY - Apr. 17, 2006
The reunited ALICE IN CHAINS will be performing at the 2006 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally at the Legendary Buffalo Chip on Friday, August 11, 2006 in Sturgis, South Dakota. The Seattle-based band joins a long list of rock, classic rock and country acts to play at this year's 25th annual party at the Legendary Buffalo Chip, including KID ROCK, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, ALICE COOPER, MONTGOMERY GENTRY, GRETCHEN WILSON, THE JAMES GANG with Joe Walsh, GEORGE THOROGOOD & THE DELAWARE DESTROYERS and BLUE ÖYSTER CULT.

For more information, click here.

As previously reported, ALICE IN CHAINS will play at least five shows in the U.S. before heading overseas for a series of summer European dates. The band have revealed on their web site that the first date of their U.S. tour will be May 18 in Los Angeles. They have also confirmed that COMES WITH THE FALL vocalist/guitarist William DuVall will sing lead vocals for the group on their upcoming run, along with a few "special guests."

DuVall performed two songs with ALICE IN CHAINS last month in New Jersey at a taping of the VH1 Classic series "Decades Rock Live!" He has also sung ALICE IN CHAINS material as part of guitarist Jerry Cantrell's solo touring band.

You have to pay to camp at the buffalo chip to see the bands that are playing there. If your not camping there and you just want to see the show, its crazy expensive.

I've seen hundreds of bands live but the 2 bands i'm pissed i never saw live were Rage Against the Machine and Alice in Chains. I saw Audioslave recently and they did a bunch of Rage songs. It was cool but it just wasn't the same. This reunion is cool but its hard to get that excited over.

Why isn't it AlC? Three guys, minus one. 3/4 of the band is their. The music. Cantrell actually did most of the signing as well. And that is due to the fact the Layne unfortunately, was not able to be around alot towards the end. Eventually, he was the reason that they quit touring after a certain point. I think it is great that the guys are touring this music. They wrote it and they should definitly stay ALICE IN CHAINS. Wish they made it to Minneapolis.

No one can capture what once was....JUST CAN'T. Ones who missed out in seeing AIC want to see them now...understandable.

BUT...take ONE of the more "influential" out of the 4 and it can't be done...It was okay that Mike Starr left......(obviously)

BUT....YOU....CANNOT....TAKE....JERRY....OR.....LAYNE....out of the mix...they both made their sound TOGETHER!!!!

And all the groupies for cwtf, continue to say to give William a chance...it won't be the same...isn't meant to be...blah. blah. blah.......well... EXAACTTLLLY!!! Do you listen to yourselves....

YES...Jerry & Sean ARE AIC -- BUT NOT WITHOUT LAYNE...Jerry HIMSELF....can't even find a replacement. He said it himself...They had an amazing chemistry....hard to find EVER AGAIN!!! (sorry Naturegirl...you seem really nice...but lets worship Jerry as solo artist and cwtf as their own group....I know, I know, I'm sure this is GREAT "pr" for William.)

AIC is a business name just as metallica or beatles.
Whoever owns it can do what they please.

He was a recognizable voice & a face for sure, but I would check it out in a heartbeat & enjoy it for what it is; a tribute. However, I watched the MTV unplugged taping again recently & I formly believe Cantrell was the backbone of AIC in my mind hands down. In this case, I think one (Jerry) could carry on without the other (Layne) if they wanted. My admiration for Cantrell has really grown over the years & I respect & enjoy most anything he does these days. I certainly have more appreciation for him as a writer & a player then I did back then.

I agree with everyone that is giving Jerry the respect he deserves as the main songwriter and "backbone" of AIC. That is meant as a compliment to him, not an insult to Layne, who was an amazing singer. Sure, some may fans be uncomfortable with them touring with the same name, fair enough. But I don't see any reason these guys shouldn't do what they love (and make alot of fans happy in the process!) I unfortunately never saw AIC perform live, but caught Jerry on his Boggy Depot and Deg Trip tours and he was amazing both times. The Boggy Depot tour had Sean drumming and they definitely had a chemistry worth continuing on with. Since 3/4 (unless of course you are a purist and want Starr instead of Inez) is the most we can get, I'll take it!

Steal a Harley and Drive Down to Sturgis. The big question is, will Joe Walsh be Joe, or the electroshocked guy in a suit that toured with the eagles in the last few years?

Hey moron, if they where in it for a Cash grab they could've done it a loooong time ago. The band started off as Jerry's, and he was pretty much the backbone of the band.
