JUDAS PRIEST: Video Clip of Royal Albert Hall Performance Posted Online - Apr. 21, 2006
A video clip of JUDAS PRIEST performing "Take on the World" at the Teenage Cancer Trust Show - A Tribute To Tommy Vance, at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England on March 31 has been posted online at JudasPriest.com (free registration required). The track features a special guest appearance by DEEP PURPLE members Roger Glover (bass) and Ian Gillan (vocals), along with members of the SCORPIONS and BONED. This special performance in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust charity was a tribute to to the late DJ Tommy Vance (of the U.K.'s "Friday Rock Show"), who passed away last year. Check out the pictures:

In a surprise appearance, IRON MAIDEN frontman Bruce Dickinson paid tribute to the rock DJ in his own unique way: "The only time I didn't listen to [Tommy Vance's] advice was when he told me not to join that band, IRON MAIDEN."

Earlier, PRIEST guitarist Glenn Tipton told The Rock Radio that Vance was important to a lot of musicians: "He championed a lot of metal bands and rock bands in England — against the odds, you know, because even, even over there, you know, there's a Top 40 hierarchy. So Tommy was really responsible for helping a lot of bands."

Tipton also told The Rock Radio that the band had wanted to do something for the Teenage Cancer Trust previously: "We offered ourselves up last year, but I think they underestimated the importance of metal, and how much metal could contribute — I'm talking about the audience now — to a great cause. But this year, they invited us to play."

JUDAS PRIEST have announced that they are creating their first conceptual album based upon the life and predictions of Nostradamus. The CD will be theatrically staged and performed in its entirety as an epic musical by JUDAS PRIEST.
