ALICE COOPER: 'I Can Dance'

Launch Radio Networks reports: Alice Cooper wrapped up his 10th annual charity golf tournament yesterday (Tuesday, April 25) in Scottsdale, Arizona. He always picks a different theme for the tournament, and this year he went with disco, complete with white suits and mirror balls. Cooper hates that music and lifestyle, but he told Launch that he's not all that far removed from it. "What people don't know is that I can dance," he said. "I can dance better than Napoleon Dynamite, you know? I just never show it. To win my, my wife, I had to go to Fire Island (in New York) with a bunch of Italian guys and literally dress like they did in 'Saturday Night Fever', and disco, and hustle — learn to hustle. When she realized that I went to that extent to win her over, then she never made me dance again. But I can dance."
Proceeds from the event go to Cooper's Solid Rock Foundation, which raises money to give inner-city children a chance at a better life.
Cooper's next show is in St. John's, Newfoundland in Eastern Canada, next Monday (May 1).

Just kidding, that's the HS in Phoenix where "Alice" went but he's one of the coolest guys you could ever run into at a mall, MetroCenter that is.
Everybody should bow to the Mighty Alice Cooper. Truly one of rock's underappreciated talents. Took rock to a theatrical spectacle level while maintaining great relevant songwriting.

Alice you are a hard rock legend. as for Bon Halfords post i agree except that i don't think that Gene Simmons is habitually rude to his fans. also i can't fault him for keeping the Kiss name alive with different Kiss products. If you don't like what Gene is promoting than keep your mouth shut and don't buy Kiss stuff.

I wrote a song titled: I WANT TO LIVE NEXTDOOR TO MR. ALICE COOPER. It's a symphonic orchestration. I conducted the entire piece. Anyways, I've 'always' enjoyed "18", "SCHOOL'S OUT", & "POISON". Mr. Alice Cooper puts on a great show. I was awed by his night-club, drinks, appetizers, entrees, desserts, & band, on my B'day, that I'm going back after Ozzfest. Maybe before & after too. It's not difficult to comprehend how Mr. Alice Cooper married such a lovely, decent, fine woman. HE TOOK DISCO LESSONS! YIPEE! I L-O-V-E to dance too. As a matter of fact, I couldn't stop dancin' at your night-club/restaurant, Mr. Cooper! It was just like hangin'-out at home with friends, family & whoever. I L-O-V-E YOU MR. ALICE COOPER! (SWAK) :X

i wish Kiss would keep the Kiss name alive with new music. but some bands that have been around 30+ years like Kiss that put out new music should have thought twice. i have no problem seeing bands like Kiss, Alice, Aerosmith and AC/DC and hearing songs from 10 to 30 years ago. Most of their new music doesn't interest me.

I find it funny how you always reference "Hey Stoopid." I mean, that's basically the only song you can find wrong. One out of 17 albums isn't bad. And you've made it clear you like the original band. So........ whats the problem?
And since when did bigger album sales mean anyone was "better???" Crap seems to be selling millions now a days. Notice how nothing lately has been classic?

Regardless of whether Alice is a good lyricist or not, I would question why anyone listens to rock/metal with the intent of reading good lyrics. Maybe a handful of bands are lyrically intelligent, but none of them can come up with prose anywhere near the likes of Milton, Shakespeare, or even Keats. The majority of rock/metal lyrics are just working class garbage. Don't get me wrong, that's part of the appeal - it's funny to listen to a bunch of uneducated morons going on about how wrong the world is and how oppressed they are when they've clearly never studied politics in their life. The accidental comedy factor is what makes rock and metal so good. If metal were a genre of film, it would be something directed by Ed Wood. Full of ambition, but it's sheer absurdity and crap dialogue means it can't be appreciated for anything other than laugh value. The bottom line is, whether bands are trying to be funny or whether they take themselves seriously, they all end up with the same result. Who could deny that the ideology of black metal was nothing but pure comedy? Hence going on stage in 'clown' make up merely draws attention to how ridiculous the whole sharade is, and by being self-mockingly ironic, it makes fun of those other bands who are so dumb they couldn't even spell the word 'wit', let alone write socio-allegorical satire.

The only ones I've seen you refer to are "Hey Stoopid" and "Feed My Frankenstein." Which are two songs, yet you keep repeating that you heard "20." Maybe you keep mistyping with an extra zero.
If those are the two you mean, it was the first Bush. I doubt Bush had any thing to do with the song writing process. Usually Presidents don't write songs with rock stars. Wasn't sure if you were aware of that.
