VINNIE PAUL To Hold 'Hard Attack' Hostage This Friday - Apr. 26, 2006
Legendary drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott (PANTERA, DAMAGEPLAN) will be playing all of the tracks from REBEL MEETS REBEL, the long awaited collaboration between Vinnie, his late brother "Dimebag" Darrell, and outlaw country icon David Allan Coe, on Sirius Satellite Radio's "Hard Attack" on Friday, April 28 beginning at 9:00 p.m. "Vinnie's gonna tell us the deal behind every f-ing song… but he'll also talk about his brother, his music, his women and what it really means to meet a true rock and roll rebel," reads a Sirius press release. Rebroadcast: Sat., April 29 @ 1 pm ET; Tues., May 2 @ 6 pm ET; Sun., May 7 @ 3 pm ET; Weds., May 17th @ 1 am ET.

As previously reported, the video for the first single, "Nothin' to Lose", from the upcoming self-titled debut from REBEL MEETS REBEL has been posted online at this location (Windows Media). The song starts off with the sounds of David and Dimebag playing slot machines, and then you hear the awesome crunch of that classic Dimebag groove.

Described as a unique crossover of country, metal and rock, REBEL MEETS REBEL's self-titled CD (cover) was recorded and mixed over a four-year period (1999-2003) at Chasin Jason studios in Dalworthington Gardens, Texas. It will be issued on May 2 via Vinnie's Big Vin Records.

Dimebag was killed onstage in December of 2004 by a deranged fan during a DAMAGEPLAN concert in Columbus, Ohio.

...that custodian dressed up to look like a rocker couldn't hold a tune if it was sealed in a box and handed to him in a bag!!

I love the shot were Dime is just shredding on guitar and then they show Uncle Charlie strumming his guitar like he was playing solo at the Elks Lodge in Deer Tit, Arkansas.

I met DIME and VINNIE in some bar in "Nawlins" a LONG time ago, and they were the nicest, most humble people you could ever hope to meet.

I have got the Rebel Meets Rebel album and it isn't that great unfortunately. Its not terrible, but its not great either. The vocals just don't match a lot of the music. I love Southern Metal but this is way more country. Its still cool that they did this project though. OH well.....back to listening to 10,000 Days!!

Fucking great.....

If you want to be political Eddie, be a politician. I fucking hate it when good bands which had great personal lyrics turn political and take out all the guesswork out of their lyrics. There was too much of that in Pearl Jams last album.

Jesus fucking christ that headline is inappropriate. I wonder what John 'Kat' Brooks would have to say about that.
