ALICE IN CHAINS To Make 'Massive Announcement' Next Monday

ALICE IN CHAINS will be making a "massive" announcement via their official web site, AliceInChains.com, on May 15 at around 4:00 p.m. PST. "It's so big that we can't even hint at what it's about but we can tell you that you'll be kicking yourself later if you don't stop by the site at around 4:00 p.m. PST on Monday," the band write in their newsletter.
ALICE IN CHAINS recently confirmed the five dates and cities for its U.S. mini-tour, beginning on May 18 in Los Angeles and ending on May 23 in New York City. The shows will all take place in either small clubs or theatres. Country music artist Shooter Jennings, son of country greats Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter, will be opening for ALICE IN CHAINS on the first two dates on their upcoming U.S. club tour.
These gigs and a previously announced date at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in August are the only announced North American shows for the reunited group so far, with European festival dates on tap for June and July.
As previously reported, ALICE IN CHAINS will be joined on vocals by COMES WITH THE FALL frontman William DuVall. However, surprise guest vocalists and musicians are expected to show up at each of the five U.S. dates.

i love these guys as you can tell by my name but i saw the heart tribute with duff, phil and duvall, and as much as it rocked and it was nice to see jerry, mike and sean together again, it wasnt AIC. even if jerry was to take over on vocals its still not AIC without layne. it can never be again. they should leave it alone and not ruin the AIC legacy. in my opinion, i would not accept them as AIC if they choose to continue with the name. they will do what they want of course but its hard for me to take them seriously without layne. examples:
the velvet underground continued without lou reed and failed.
van halen + gary cherone without hagar or roth and failed.
motley crue without vince and failed.

Nothing Alice in Chains announce would really make me excited. They've been my favorite band every since I started listening to music about 15 years ago, but Layne's death really took away all the excitement and anticipation I once had for this band. For many years, I'd pray and pray that Layne would get his act together for just ONE more new album. And after waiting so many years, his death really just killed the band for me. I still listen to and love everything they've released, but to me, there is no longer an Alice in Chains.

Godsmack got it's name from AIC. Sully is huge AIC and has a great voice. He's the only one that could pull this off.
Phil is a great singer, but he's too emotionally unstable to stay in a band for too long.

that none of these posts have mentioned Dave Kosco from Dropbox. Say what you will about Sully Doucher discovering them but the Dropbox CD ain't half bad and Kosco sounds like Layne. They should use him.

No. It's not going to be anything like that at all. I'd love to see Cornell write some things with the remaining AIC but I think he's "gone now" and he's never coming back. Cornell's Seattle connections are obvious but I think he's moved onto new things.
I do think his voice would benefit NOT SCREAMING SO MUCH for awhile, so perhaps . . . nah . . . it's just daydreaming.
I'd be flabbergasted.
Maybe they can get David Lee Roth, David Allen Coe, Sammy Hagar, Brian Johnson, Sebastian Bach, Blackie Lawless, Axl Rose, John Corabi and Ripper Owens to do "We Are The World"again in a minor key . . . . just as Layne would have loved it.
Seriously . . . . it's gonna be something minor . . . maybe they're touring or something.

1. Phil Anselmo is gonna be the new lead singer of AIC
2. They are gonna be on Ozzfest
3. They signed to a label and are working on a new album
4. They are gonna tour with G N' R or Tool
5. Or they are gonna be on Rock Star with Supernova and they
are both gonna get new frontman
I really want to believe that it is either gonna be either choice 1 , 2, 3 , Looking foward to this monday. I will be guled to AIC.com to find out the major announcement.
