'Massive' ALICE IN CHAINS Announcement Not So Massive After All - May 11, 2006
Launch Radio Networks reports: Although news broke online late Tuesday (May 9) that ALICE IN CHAINS would be making a "massive" announcement on its website this Monday (May 15), a representative for the band's management told Launch yesterday (Wednesday, May 10) to disregard that notice, chalking it up to an "overenthusiastic" fan club moderator. The item about the big revelation has since disappeared from the site.

ALICE IN CHAINS recently confirmed the five dates and cities for its U.S. mini-tour, beginning on May 18 in Los Angeles and ending on May 23 in New York City. The shows will all take place in either small clubs or theatres.

These gigs and a previously announced date at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in August are the only announced North American shows for the reunited group so far, with European festival dates on tap for June and July.

As previously reported, ALICE IN CHAINS will be joined on vocals by COMES WITH THE FALL frontman William DuVall. However, surprise guest vocalists and musicians are expected to show up at each of the five U.S. dates.

It's good to see Jerry and the boys performing together again, but Duvall certainly doesn't seem to fit in well with the rest of the band.

I'd almost prefer to hear JC sing those songs by himself, rather than bring that dude along.

BTW, What's up with all the Bori hate lately?! Did I miss something?

Whew, thank god- now there will be more room for all the important announcements, like looking for employees at the KI$$ Coffehouse, KI$$ set to launch cologne line, Greed Simmons pitches another gay TV show that goes nowhere, KI$$ planning 250th Farewell Tour, KI$$ set to launch official credibility shredder, Paul Stanley puts on his shoes, Greed Simmons drops a dime down the sewer and is then hospitalized for severe depression, etc.

I almost fell out of my chair this morning when I read in the local paper that Alice In Chains is playing Club Metronome in Burlington Vermont. Tickets go on sale Monday. 10 Min later the Guns and Roses tickets showed up Fed-ex. Is it stange that I'm seeing Guns & Roses & Alice in Chains in 2006 within days of each other. I'm not sure what I'm dreading most.... Going down to NYC 6 Hours to stand in the Hammersmith Ballroom waiting hours and hours for G & R to go on or going to that dump Club Metronome and being packed in there with a bunch of hillbillies.

As for people giving Bori a hard time.........

Thanx alot Bori for commitmment and dedication to this site. I come here to see what's going on and consider it my only real source to see what's going on in the "Rock World".

Re=spect

Giving Bori a hard time is an absolute disgrace.
The man is a star for what he does here - that's just a fact. The fact a mistake was made by the source is nothing to do with him. I just can't believe some people on here.

Education in America has done a fine job. "Despite nearly constant news coverage since the war there began in 2003, 63 percent of Americans aged 18 to 24 failed to correctly locate the country on a map of the Middle East. Seventy percent could not find Iran or Israel," reports National Geographic. "Young Americans just don't seem to have much interest in the world outside of the U.S.," mused David Rutherford, a specialist in geography education at the National Geographic Society in Washington.

Young Americans are so ill-educated, half of them can't find New York on a map, let alone Iran and Iraq. "Many young Americans also lack basic map-reading skills.... Told they could escape an approaching hurricane by evacuating to the northwest, only two-thirds could indicate which way northwest is on a map."

Do me a personal favor.

Alice In Chains? Either way I'm going to check it out. They we're very good live back in the day which was strange becouse no one moved when they played. They are not many bands like that.

they would just get Dave Kosco from Dropbox to replace Layne and either Jerry can turn his current unreleased solo album into a new AIC album and have Toby Wright produce or write 10-12 new songs with Kosco because he's a suitable replacement and the only one that really sounds acceptable if you've heard the Dropbox CD.
