ALICE IN CHAINS: Brand New Video Interview Posted Online - May 12, 2006
A half-hour interview with ALICE IN CHAINS members Jerry Cantrell (guitar), Sean Kinney (drums) and Mike Inez (bass) — which aired earlier in the month on the HDNet (High Definition TV) channel as part of the "Sound Off" program with host Matt Pinfield — has been posted online at this location.

ALICE IN CHAINS recently confirmed the five dates and cities for its U.S. mini-tour, beginning on May 18 in Los Angeles and ending on May 23 in New York City. The shows will all take place in either small clubs or theatres.

These gigs and a previously announced date at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in August are the only announced North American shows for the reunited group so far, with European festival dates on tap for June and July.

As previously reported, ALICE IN CHAINS will be joined on vocals by COMES WITH THE FALL frontman William DuVall. However, surprise guest vocalists and musicians are expected to show up at each of the five U.S. dates.

First, this interview is old news. Check it out on myspace.

Secondly, I found the announcement with enough persistence.
Green Hell, you are wrong. Its just that its not as "MAAASSSIVE" as everyone is leading themselves to believe.

I'll put it to you this way. It's something that everyone is kind of already expecting.

and BOTTLESLAP, thank you for hitting everyone with a dose of reality on an occasional AIC news thread. Really.

The only thing that this band could do to get me excited would be to release a live DVD. And I'm not talking about when they opened for Kiss in '96 when Layne was held up by his microphone stand. I want a DVD of them when they were in their prime, back in '92 and '93. On their official Live album Layne sounds absolutely incredible on tracks like Love, Hate, Love, Junkhead, Rooster, etc...A DVD of these performances would be nice. Unplugged is great, but Layne is only a shell of what he once was in that performance.

But without Layne Staley, I honestly am not that interested in what this band does. Jerry Cantrell's solo stuff is decent, but it's missing that certain darkness that only Layne could provide.

aic should stay what it was... hold on to the legacy that exists now. I know jerryc wrote most of the music, i don't care. they need to get a new name and label, as they will be a different band from here on out. The only place they have to go is down. with AIC branding.

Cantrell guy should form a new band or just record a new album with Kinney and Inez, just like he did for his first solo album. But he doesn't have the balls anymore I guess.

BUT THEY'RE THE BAND AND I'M HAPPY AS HELL THAT THEY ARE DOING THIS BECAUSE AFTER LAYNE DIED I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE SAD TO HAVE THE REMAINING 3 MEMBERS GO THE REST OF THEIR LIVES AND NOT PLAY SOMETHING TOGETHER. THEY JUST HAVE TOO MUCH TALENT AND CHEMISTRY THAT MOST FULL PIECE BANDS TODAY DON'T EVEN HAVE. I DON'T EXPECT THEM TO BE WHAT THEY WERE, BUT I AM HAPPY THAT THEY'RE TAKING LIFE BY THE BALLS AND DOING IT WHILE THEY ARE STILL ALIVE-THAT'S WHAT MATTERS. YOU EITHER JOIN THE RIDE OR GET OFF. I THINK I'LL ENJOY IT. GREAT INTERVIEW ALSO FROM MATT BY THE WAY.
