AC/DC Frontman Honors Newcastle United Soccer Star - May 12, 2006
The Evening Chronicle is reporting that AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson was among the celebrities who attended a testimonial dinner for England football (soccer) star Alan Shearer Wednesday night (May 10). He and other stars were joined by family and friends from the world of football who gathered to pay tribute to Shearer, who made his final appearance with the Newcastle United football club Thursday night.

According to The Evening Chronicle, the Tyneside-born AC/DC frontman is now based in Los Angeles, but travelled back to honor his team's greatest-ever goalscorer.

correct, Newcastle did beat Chelsea the other day. yeah Rooney and Owen are injured and the manager took a gamble on choosing a 17 year old called Theo Walcott to be in the world cup squad. hes supposed to be amazing. Shearer is THE best Premiership player of all time, a true legend.

SHEAAAAAAAAREEEEEEEEEER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shearer and sheringham partnership in 96, shearer has been the most feared striker in the premiershp. Thats coming from a gooner!! a true legend. But why retire from international football so young?? He could of been far more recognised outside of england. AS for signing for newcastle. He followed his heart not the glory.
