Vocalist
John Tardy of the legendary death metallers
OBITUARY has posted the following message on their official web site:
"We just finished several days of practice and got our new setlist done for our upcoming West Coast dates. It was a good to have all of us together and a few friends over for some cool ones. I have been going crazy trying to get everything together before we go. We are also all thankful that
Allen [
West, guitar] is OK. He recently bought a new mobile home and only after a few days the thing caught fire while he was in it. He woke up to find himself in a flame-filled, smoke-filled room and almost did not make it out. Luckily he made it out and other than losing most of his stuff he is OK! Quite scary!!!
"We have things here ready to go and we are getting fired up to get out to the West Coast for some way over due shows. We are looking forward to seeing the
DEAD TO FALL and
SADUS guys and seeing all of you!!!
"It has taken us a while but it looks like we finally have the new video done. You should see it out soon!"
OBITUARY are continuing to tour in support of their latest CD,
"Frozen in Time", which was released in July 2005 via
Roadrunner Records. The group's first collection of new songs since 1997's
"Back from the Dead" was self-produced by the band, with
Mark Prator and
Scott Burns engineering, and was mastered by
Tom Morris at
Morrisound.
