Updated: IZZY STRADLIN Takes Stage With GUNS N' ROSES In New York City - May 18, 2006
Former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Izzy Stradlin took the stage tonight (May 17) with GNR for the songs "Think about You", "Patience" and "Nightrain" at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.

GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose made various references to Stradlin during their May 15 show at the Hammerstein Ballroom.

In addition, Kid Rock joined GN'R and Stradlin for "Nightrain".

Tonight's concert is the last of four New York City shows to be performed by the current lineup of GUNS N' ROSES. These are the only U.S. appearances scheduled so far for the group, which counts singer W. Axl Rose as its sole original member. BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE was the opening act for all NYC dates.

GUNS N' ROSES 2006 touring lineup:

Axl Rose - Vocals
Robin Finck - Guitar
Ron Thal - Guitar
Richard Fortus - Guitar
Tommy Stinson - Bass
Dizzy Reed - Keyboards
Chris Pittman - Keyboards
Brian "Brain" Mantia - Drums

Check out live pictures of GUNS N' ROSES from their New York City shows at www.chinesedemocracy.com.

also, those pictures with sebastian bach: whoever thought the day would come when sebastian was the coolest guy on the stage.

I loved GnR in '87, they got me into the whole rock/metal scene for which I'll always be grateful.... but they really are one of the most overrated bands on the planet, they have made one absolutely classic album and all else was hit'n'miss rubbish and the recent amount of news headlines reeks of PR companies...yes Democracy will go triple-platinum, its sell by the fukin truck load, but I seriously dont think it'll be the classic album they are hyped to make....theres a big revival at the moment but don't let it cloud your judgement to the actual music....or lack of it

We're not talking about the fucking Beatles, this is GNR... nobody's going to pay big money for them to reunite because they're yesterday's news. Nobody cares other than a few thousand fanboys. You think Izzy got paid anything? No, it's just publicity for him.

New Kids On The Block could put together a tour, and some sad fuckers would probably show up, but that wouldn't make them significant in any way.

Axl's new band is very Spinal Tap and here's why:

1. Replacing a legendary band with a bunch of no-namers, yet still touring as GNR is a total Spinal Tap move.

2. Swelling the band's lineup to an 8 piece instead of a 5 piece...very Spinal Tap.

3. Three guitar players (4 when Izzy's on stage) and 2 keyboardsists (3 when Axl plays)?...That kind of ridiculousness couldn't be more Spinal Tap! Since when is there that much keyboard in GNR songs?...GNR used to be a rock band.

This cover band is a total caricature of GNR. I am very surprised that some of you guys still cannot see how bad this is shaping up to be. I guarantee this band will last one album and then crumble. Chinese Democracy will be GNR's version of Van Halen 3 (yes, the one with Gary Cherone).

Guns N' Roses ain't Guns N' Roses without SLASH ! You can Izzy and Axl but without Slash they ain't shit ! Bring back Slash, Duff, and Matt, and then we are talking . By the way there ain't no show like an L.A. show. NYC is DONE ! Thats why Axl and his GNR cover band are playing NYC cause' they are done ! If there ever is a full reunion of GNR' it would be in their hometown . L.A. Motherfuckers !!!

The show was technically perfect. Izzy was the best part. Axl sounded great. The band played everything just the way they should. But, I hated the show because no matter how hard I tried to get over it, I could not stand watching a bunch of pretenders play Slash's parts. GNR does not exist without Slash. If I had never seen the original line-up play, I probably would have thought last night's show was in the top five I have ever seen. But, like I said, no Slash, no deal. On the other hand, the new songs were great.

as a fan of GN'R going back to 87(i saw them open for the cult, and they changed my life)through today, i must say there are a lot of morons out there. NO, GN'R of today will not be the same as before! it's 2006. people change in that time. look at slash and duff. since they left guns, they seemed to forget how to write great songs. slash has not written one good song since his GN'R days. Duff's second solo album(still un-released as far as i know), was ok, but not great. thanks to the power of the internet and someone in the know, i have it(so don't ask how i have heard it). as for velvet revolver....their album was mediocre at best. in my opinion, i would call it a second rate buckcherry(i am not a fan of them either). is slash a great guitar player? of course, but he is a shit songwriter(without being known as the FORMER guitar player, bass player and drummer of guns w/the former STP vocalist, velvet revolver would have been dropped from their record deal). all of you whining about a reunion, stop. it aint worth it. sure all the guys(minus steve adler, fucking loser) could get together and make a whole lot of money, but why? it will never be what it was from 87-91. those days are gone. today, GN'R is axl's vision. are the players different? yeah, so what?! he owns the name(regardless of how he may have achieved it underhandedly). he can call it whatever he wants. it's only music fuckwads! whatever the label that is placed on it, it will still only be music. the difference between the VR guys and axl and izzy. axl and izzy continue to write good songs. i have heard three albims izzy has released since leaving GN'R, and a few songs expected to be on chinese democracy...guess what! these two guys are still writing good songs. it's great to hear that they shared a stage together again, but the world would really be no different had they not. as for the fucking bone head who seems to care about how axl looks(the hair)...fuck you. what kind of fucking moron gives a shit about how someone else looks? you don't see the music. how someone wears their hair has no bearing on the music they make. as for axl EVER causing a riot. MORONS cause riots. what was the thought process behind any of them? "the shows cancelled! break shit! throw shit! fight the police!" anyone involved with the bullshit behind any of the riots at past GN'R shows, is nothing but a fucking loser to begin with.

listen to the music if you like it great, if not, listen to something else.

just to give some of you some perspective:
as for being relevant today? even if a band(any band) sold 100 million albums, they still would not be relevant. there are more than 5 billion people on this fucking planet. no artist is relevant. it's only music, and more than 99% of the world's population will never even hear it. if you don't like what axl is doing today, no matter how many albums they sell, it WILL NOT BE RELEVANT TO YOU! SO WHAT?!

That is the dumbest shit I have ever heard . NYC is done?? New York city has the best fans in america ( sports, concerts etc) NYC is the #1 market in the country . I have been to L.a and it fuckin sucks. I went to a sporting event in La and the crowd was quiet . Nobody was following the action whatesever. LA crowds have a reputation of being among the worst in the country. Another thing , a musician hasn't proven himself until he sells out MSG , that is the measuring stick for every artist. I don't understand why people in LA are always attacking NY. Is it because you have an inferiority complex?? Here in NY we could careless about L.A or what is going on over there . L.A are a bunch of phony posers anyway. As far as L.A being GNR's hometown, Izzy (indiana ) Axl ( Indiana) Duff( Seattle) Slash ( england) what the fuck are you talking about??

They could of been like the Rolling Stones now.
That is the truth.

FACT . Guns N' Roses started out as a band on the strip . Strip = Hollywood for your info. NYC sucks ass. L.A. steps on them . About the sporting event, did you a baseball game or something. Tennis ? Cause' the Lakeshow has the hardest crowd ! Every band out there dreams of playing a show in L.A. Coliseum, House Of blues, Staples, Forum, you name it. All you guys got is the Madison Square Garden. Earlier in the NBA season. L.A. took out the knicks and your fans were chanting MVP for Kobe. No city comes close to L.A. About the poser crap. thats funny to me.
L.A. wouldnt put up with some crappy GNR Cover band with Axl on Vocals. thats why Axl is in new york doing his so-called warm up shows. cause' he knows those pussies would support him for anything. how much were the tickets by the way ... $75 bucks or so. Thats sad. and you all paid for it .
