TOOL: Technical Glitches Plague Toronto Concert - May 19, 2006
MJI Interactive is reporting that TOOL's concert this past Tuesday (May 16) in Toronto hit a few technical glitches — microphones cutting out, video screens going blank — but guitarist Adam Jones says working through those kind of kinks is among the reasons for the band's current club trek. "These are warm-up shows for us because we haven't toured in a long time," explains Jones. "The autopilot isn't on. There's a lot of stuff that needs to be worked out live."

TOOL made a huge No. 1 debut on last week's The Billboard 200 with the band's fourth album, "10,000 Days", which sold 564,000 copies in its first week of release. The group's previous album, 2001's "Lateralus", sold nearly as many and also entered the chart at No. 1.

TOOL's current small-venue tour concludes on May 21 in Boston.

I wonder if Maynard got upset and threw his mic down.

On another note, you little turds who like to bash on Tool, you're lucky, and smart enough to hide your email addresses.

tool should retire?
fucking stupid. bands cancel shit all the time, ive never heard of tool cancelling a tour or even a show. they arent guns n roses.
theyve sold more albums then any other band so far this year. tool has way much more loyal fans, metal fans (death/black metal especially) are the most bitchy and annoying fans ive ever met. and i love death metal. if you dont like tool, whatever... but to say they should retire at what looks like the height of thier career, fuck off

"I mean I like a song or two off of each album....and I especially like the first song on this new one...but there is also a lot of filler.

You would think with the iTune mentallity going on that they would not sell as many albums...but...more power to em!"

The album is unique enough to get people to purchase it. They made it to where just looking at the album is a completely different experience than just listening to it. THAT's how they've managed to get people to buy the album instead of going the iTunes way.

COMMENT | Alright, then...

I don't really know why I decided to get sucked into this waste-of-time, website, but here's my post. So someone anonymously sends me an email about the TOOL show in Toronto running into problems. Great, I think I'll dedicate all my time to finding out when things go wrong (to good people) and exploit it. Great. Someone asked how could they sell as many albums as they have. Well, because no other band in that genre comes close in what they have to offer. TOOL basically is their own genre. I

In regards to the TOOL concert performance: I saw them in Philadelphia Wed night and they were fucking great as usual. Not a big flashy performance that you will see in the arenas in the Fall, but awesome to see them raw and up close. It's hard to comprehend that four guys sitting up there jamming are producing the amazing, grooving, sick, twisted, FLAWLESS, rocking music as they do. What a privelige to see them up close like this. What a privelige. There was one point in the show where they had a pause in between notes that was so freakin' tight you could hear a pin drop as my mouth dropped open in disbelief.

Do your self a favor and open up to the gift that TOOL is.

Be well.

some of you wasters really need to open yourselves to new idea's in music.

going around preaching the good word of slayer and pantera gets old.

and a lot of people round here seem to devote some time to mastodon and the like... those are the people that should, as a right of passage, open themselves to tool.
