GUNS N' ROSES To Headline KROQ's 'Inland Invasion' In September

GUNS N' ROSES will headline KROQ's Inland Invasion 2006 on September 23 at the Hyundai Pavillion at Glen Helen in Devore, California, the group's frontman Axl Rose told the Los Angeles radio station KROQ in an interview conducted this morning (May 19). During the chat, Axl also stated that he thought the surprise acoustic show GUNS N' ROSES played Thursday night (May 19) at The Plumm in New York City was "the smartest thing" he's done in ten years. He also mentioned how it was similar to when GN'R performed at the legendary NYC club CBGB in 1987. According to Axl, he was attacked by fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger at The Plumm last night because he moved Tommy's girlfriend's drink — which Axl said was "the most surreal thing" that has happened in his life. Tommy was thrown out by security. When asked if GUNS N' ROSES' long-awaited "Chinese Democracy" CD was coming out this year, Rose reportedly responded, "Yes, absolutely." Your bashing him here is your own little way of giving him publicity. Do you think these bands don't know what goes on here at places like blabbermouth. Their management reads these sites. They know how to push the proverbial buttons of the angry young men that post on these sites.
That said, stop the Axl bashing. He may not be the smartest man on earth, or the most talented, but he sure as hell is more talented than those of us who post here. We're just music fans. He's the one out there living that life. Its easy to be critical from behind a computer screen.

Even though it's been said FUCK GLEN HELEN HYUNDAI PAVILION! It's a damn shame most california festivals are held in that shithole instead of a decent outdoor venue like Verizon Irvine. I aswell as many others hate having to drive to bum fuck nowhere to go catch a show. It doesn't help when it's over 100 degrees in the summer and everyone I've come across from the 909 is a complete douche or asshole.

i'm glad i'm not alone with the anti-Glen Helen sentiments. i was almost positive the goons in cut-off jeans were going to try to sodomize me with their Nascar-sticker-covered Igloo.
i doubt management for GOOD bands will change anything as long as people still go there though.
i'm as pissed at Axl for keeping the name Guns n' Roses as the next guy, but he's a great songwriter, and it's plain to see where the creativity and evolving force of the band was.
change isn't always bad.
