SAMMY HAGAR Featured On 'Extra' TV Show: Video Available - May 20, 2006
Sammy Hagar and the "Are We Having any Fun Yet?" cruise was featured on the syndicated entertainment TV show "Extra" in an episode that aired the weekend of May 13, 2006. Watch the segment online: High, Low (Windows Media).

The first annual Cabo Wabo "Are We Having Fun Yet?" cruise set sail between April 23 and April 30 on the Carnival Pride. The boat hit Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Hagar is currently shopping his new studio album, dubbed "Livin' It Up", to labels.

"'Livin' it Up' is really a lifestyle record," Hagar told Billboard.com. "It's not a metal record at all. I would say it's more American country rock than heavy metal rock, which is the type of music I've always played from MONTROSE through VAN HALEN. My intention was to just make a real honest record."

say what you will about Van Hagar (I think Sammy-era stuff was awesome, though my preference was Diamond Dave. Not because of the vocals but because the tunes were better with Dave), but still, this guy knows how to have fun. he's the Jimmy Buffet of hard rock, and that's alright in my book. I think more people out there need to take a clue from Sammy.

Coudn't agree more. I probably like 1/3 of his solo tunes but I think he is one "Cool Mother Fucker". Eddie should observe how cool life can be.

its funny anyone that shits on him saying he was nothing without VH. if memory and history serve (which they do!) sammy was in montrose which was some big shit, then he had a very succesful solo career prior to joining VH. and again on his departure from the band. yea i thought so.

and as for his turning vh into garbage hardly. i do like many of the van hagar era tunes (not as much as their ones with the diamond one) but ed was the key player in their sound change. or need i remind anyone of jump? keys? total pop? piece of trash? yea i thought so. so lets look before placing all the blame on the sam man.

other than that the fuckin dude rules. who takes their fans on a cruise and provides the party? no1. that mans tequila fucking owns as well. smooth stuff. i personally hate tequilla and sammy's is the only 1 that i've been able to put up with. the man lives the life. sammy is a god.

it's funny how all you guys bash Sammy for wrecking VH, but Eddie basically writes all the music. and VH Always had a foot in the pop world, think about it-"Dance the Night Away"and "Jump" has got to be the lamest tune ever. face it a band needs to evolve at some point, and when Dave left, they got Sammy in the band, a better singer and musician.
