DAVID LEE ROTH To Tour U.S. This Summer

Former VAN HALEN frontman David Lee Roth will reportedly be embarking on an extensive U.S. tour — consisting of 30 dates or so — beginning in late June. So far the following dates have been released:
Jun. 28 - House of Blues – Chicago, IL
Jun. 30 - Summer Celebration - Muskegon, MI
Jul. 01 - Summerfest - Milwaukee, WI
David Lee Roth was canned last month as the replacement in several markets for morning radio personality Howard Stern. He had been on the air barely three months on seven stations, including those in the New York, Philadelphia and Boston.
"I was booted, tossed, and it's going to cost somebody," Roth snarled on his last show, intimating that he'll go after CBS Radio for the full compensation due from his reported $4 million contract.

ok line up at the beer tents people for another Van Halen tribute tour from I used to be in the band roth. face it he's washed up and living in the past and so are you roth worshipers, it's not 1984 anymore people. I will be seeing Sammy at a real venue put on a real show playin His own music as well Van Halen classics. Sammy rules and dave probably can't even drool at this point anymore.

I've long since thought that if it weren't for the imbecilic feud between EVH and DLR there would have been many great songs and tours over the years since the breakup.
It's pathetic to think about.
I saw VH in 78 and 81 and 84 or 85 and a couple times with sammy.
Such egos that get in the way baffles the brain.
Get VH back together before they have to start taking geritol!!!!

I have done much research on this matter and eddie is a inconsistant asshole.Dave is the original singer.Sammy made the band into a damn commercial shit machine .The first time I heard

So Sammy, VH's replacement singer, can do a show with his own material and VH songs, and he's legitimate while Roth, VH's original singer, can do a show with his own material and VH songs, and it's considered a cover band? That's some pretty retarded logic there.
Besides that, though, we all know why he's doing this... the radio gig fell through, he's unemployed, and this is the only way for him to make money at this point. Must be nice - I'm broke, I need money, think I'll put a tour together.

That's great. Get front row seats and when they start doing "Best of Both Worlds" and Sammy announces that it's 5150 time, remind him he's no longer VH and that EVH and AVH aren't playing with him. Hopefully he's not wearing his yellow and red getup that makes him look like a cross between Ronald McDonald, Hulk Hogan and Big Bird either.

I really hope he comes to Ottawa or Montreal. I haven't seen Dave live since 1988 when Poison opened. I know it might sound strange but that was a great show ! Come on Dave gimme some tunes !

I wish both sides would swallow their pride and give the fans what they want!
The VH reunion tour with Hagar SUCKED!
I saw Roth in Myrtle Beach House of Blues and believe it or not, it was the best. He only did one solo song, the rest, classic VH and about sounded like the records.

just out of curiosity what songs of his own does roth sing? on every set list I have seen he does all Van Halen tunes. at least Sammy has a good enough catalog of his own songs that he can sing besides the Van Halen stuff. roth was Van Halen? that explains why nothing he has done solo comes close to matching what he did with band or what they did with Sammy. just because roth can't sing well enough to do a ballad does not mean Sammy made Van Halen a wimpy band. as someone else pointed out Eddie does all the music for them so if you are gonna blame someone blame him not Sammy, and what are you gonna blame on him anyway? having the talent to write more than the same one note songs that roth can sing? all you have to do to know what they would sound like to day is listen to the 2 songs they did with roth on the first hits cd, great music with the worst lyrics and vocals ever provided by roth both of which were blown away by the 1 Sammy song humans being and there is no denying that! only an complete idiot would say the roth ones were better. maybe it's because all you roth lovers weren't old enough to see them back in the day and hey they were good but it was the music not roth's rambling that made the shows and records great.

I saw VH with Gary Cherone in 1998 and it was great. They played old Roth era songs which Hagar the ego refused to do. The only ones Hagar would do with VH were Panama, Aint' talkin bout love, you really got me ... and that's about it. In other worrds, the most boring fucking Roth era songs they could possibly have done. The live album was fucked because of that - what a crappy setlist, like, 'hey, let's finally put out a live album and just play all of the songs that were on the last album we put out (for unlawful carnal knowledge), and also have a solo from every instrument.' Total crrap.

What happened to dave, he was so fun in the 80s .
The radio show was HORRIBLE. But so what, he was a great frontman.
I wish he never botched that brief reunion. What a waste.
