SLIPKNOT Frontman To Host FACECAGE CD-Release Party - May 21, 2006
SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor will be hosting a concert at The Val Air Ballroom in West Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday, July 15, featuring FACECAGE (Iowa), MINDRITE (Iowa), BLACK FLOOD DIESEL (Minnesota), NARCOTIC SELF (Nebraska), BROKEN IMAGE (Colorado) and SIDEWISE (Kansas)

FACECAGE is an Iowa-based metal band described by Taylor as containing "the heaviness of SEPULTURA, the groove of [BLACK] SABBATH, the dark melodies of the Midwest and the drive of one hundred bands from either coast." The group's third release, entitled "III", was produced by Corey and will be the first to be issued through Taylor's new Iowa-based label.

Last summer, Taylor was approached by longtime friend and collaborator Denny Harvey about the possibility of producing FACECAGE's next album. Harvey and his (515) Management Group have managed FACECAGE since 2003.

Said Harvey: "Corey has been a friend and confidant to FACECAGE for some time and he was ecstatic to be a part of this. He has watched FACECAGE go from playing clubs and paying their dues to becoming a Midwestern success story. This is really the next step for the band and a chance for them to work together, something Corey has been interested in for awhile now."

FACECAGE has independently released two albums so far: "Facecage" (2001) and "II" (2004).

I'm from Des Moines and I have seen Facecage live and they really do give a good show. I agree that they're not as intense on CD, I couldnt get into it anyway. Nothing to get excited about though.

That argument is tired. Very little is original so don't bother claiming it is.

Fvck stone sour, fvck slipknot, fvck corey taylor. stone sour caused the demise of one of the craziest metal bands there was (being slipknot). After the stone sour re grouping, corey tried to bring that soft core pvssy sh1t over to slipknot and that was the birth of volume 3:... I was extremley dissappointed in that cd, the hour or so that it took to listen to that cd was a waste of my life, and time i will never get back... Long ago, corey taylor in 2001 said in an interview... "Once this mask comes off... slipknot is done with"... and what happened? he created all the controversy around slipknot breaking up because corey took off his mask and went to stone sour... a scam to sell more albums of a possibly dying band (slipknot), as well as rumors that went on for almost 2 years about the group splitting up and so on. then out of no where, slipknot makes a return with vol 3: the subliminal verses.. the fans are as excited as ever to hear the new cd and what their new songs will sound like. many true maggots were dissappointed with what slipknot has become... another stone sour. I mean c'mon don't get me wrong, you cannot compare songs like spit it out, (sic), eyeless, and purity to songs like circle, vermilion II, and danger keep away. Volume 3 is a radio friendly album that 12 year olds sing along to with their parents in the car, haha. I honestly woudlent be surprised to hear duality on the next kids bop album. Bottom line: slipknot are a bunch of sell outs who basically are in it for the money. they make more money off of merchandise then actual cd's or dvd's. Slipnkot has come out with a pair of shoes, about 200 shirts, wallets, lighters...ive seen kids wearing slipknot fvcking socks for christs sake. I hope this gets back to them somehow and they realize wtf theyve become. they have the choice to make any kind of music they want to and im not telling them to change it. I just want them to know how many fans they have let down, and how many they have lost as well.
