OZZY OSBOURNE To Discuss Being Fired From BLACK SABBATH On BBC TV - May 22, 2006
According to Digital Spy, Ozzy Osbourne is among the celebrities that will speak candidly about being fired from high-profile jobs in a new TV series.

In "You Can't Fire Me, I'm Famous", former Mirror editor Piers Morgan — himself sacked after a photo scandal in 2004 — will interview famous faces about the real reasons for their departures.

Among those lined up are Ozzy Osbourne, who was ditched by his BLACK SABBATH bandmates; actress Martine McCutcheon, killed off in "EastEnders" in 1998; and Vinnie Jones, sacked for sinking his teeth into a journalist's nose.

The series begins Monday, June 5 on BBC One.

Dio: Dio, Rainbow, Sabbath...

Ozzy: Sabbath, Ozzy, Sauron, Kelly & Jack, MTV, lipsynch, Ozzfest throwing eggs by wife incident, wife hates Mother Theresa incident...

Point go to Dio. Sorry Ozzy.

its common knowledge why Ozzy was kicked out of Sabbath. because he was an alcoholic, a pothead, an acid burnout, and a cokehead. also, the band was running out of steam, musically. their last 2 albums with Ozzy weren't too good. the bottom line is, Ozzy really isn't a great singer. Dio is 10 times better. the new 2-disc Sabbath compilation of the Dio years is coming out soon on Rhino records. its supposed to have a few brand new tracks. can't wait for that.

Ozzy will always be the greatest singer because he was the original. When you think Sabbath, you think Ozzy. There is no way around it

ha ha yeah that is pretty crap, i was wondering if anyone noticed that too. i always preferred Ozzy's solo stuff to his time with Sabbath anyway.

I've always felt that Ozzy had (and still does) have the most distinctive voice, and to be fair to him, it sounded good. Having listened to some early live stuff of theirs (which isn't easy to come by) he does sound pretty damn good.

But the fact is Dio was and is an absolutely immense singer, and the first two Dio-Sabbath albums were the best they'd done for years, not just because of Dio's singing - the whole band seemed rejuvenated after a quite poor run of albums.

That being said, I can find something to tkae out of every Sabbath album, even the much maligned Tony Martin and Glenn Hughes ones.

Ozzy's vocals are cack compared to Dio's, but musically, the Ozzy era is much better.

I sincerely hope there are subtitles on this so i can understand what Ozzy is saying!

The Dio Sabbath is my fav of all Sabbath. Ozzy's solo stuff is better than Ozzy Sabbath stuff, IMO. Doesnt everyone know why Ozzy got booted out of Sabbath anyway? By now they should.

I believe the lyrics in reference are
"generals gather in their masses
just like witches in black masses"
Didn't know you needed to make statements rhyme.
I think that is just a sentence put into a song and then the rest of the song has some type of rhyme scheme, but oh wait, you probably missed out on that by trying to point out the lyrics were stupid. I could be wrong again, but those lyrics are drawing the conclusion that generals are evil. How would you guys re-write them to have the same message? ( this should be interesting)

Not to mention...the lyrics are terrible!? Am I the only one who noticed that he rhymes masses with masses in the beginning of War Pigs? *barf!* "

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out this one. There are two definitions here for "masses".

1.)masses
A noun
1 multitude, masses, mass, hoi polloi, people

the common people generally; "separate the warriors from the mass"; "power to the people"

2.) Mass(es) Plural

(Roman Catholic Church and Protestant Churches) the celebration of the Eucharist

a few things to clear up...everybody shits on the last 2 ozzy sab albums because they say its was all because ozzy was too stoned and drunk...partly true but it's also a known fact that tony iommi wanted to go toward a more commercial , prog -rock sound, while ozzy wanted to stay with metal. not being happy with new direction ,ALL the rest of the band began drinking more. after TONY decided to make an example of ozzy and fire him(and getting bill ward to do it..) and after the poor sales of the last albums, they get dio and go back to the metal sound of the old days. and just for the record ..yes, dio is by far the better singer but his lyrics are total typical, cliche heavy metal horse shit...all the rainbows, dragons and lord of the rings crap is one of the main reasons why people outside of metal don't take it seriously..

OK, Let's just get this straight....

Sabbath w/ Ozzy kicks ass!
Sabbath w/ Dio kicks ass!
Sabbath w/ Gillan kicks ass!
Sabbath w/ Hughes... eh was more like an Iommi solo album.
Sabbath w/ Martin kicks ass!

In summary, Sabbath just kicks ass. This is especially the case when both Iommi and Butler are in the band.

"its common knowledge why Ozzy was kicked out of Sabbath. because he was an alcoholic, a pothead, an acid burnout, and a cokehead."

according to Ozzy on "Don't Blame Me" Tony was doing blow, Geezer was doing valium (some drug beginning with v) and Bill was drinking booze and they'd all be getting drugged out of their fucking heads, so I doubt that was a reason, the main reason was music, as Ozzy did try to make make a CD before he was kicked out of Sabbath (Simple People) and Ozzy knew the rest of the band didn't like it talked to Sharon about it , but Tony who walked in (drugged out of his head) unaware that Ozzy was standing there announced that "It stinks!".
