GUNS N' ROSES Planning More U.S. Dates In September

Axl Rose had an all-star audience turn out for his GUNS N' ROSES New York shows last week, according to a press release. Famous faces in the crowd included Matthew Perry, Mickey Rourke, Drea De Matteo, Lenny Kravitz, Jamie Lynn Sigler, Fred Durst, Sebastian Bach, Ethan Hawke, Jay Z, Jimmy Fallon, Maxwell and Sean Penn. The final show at Hammerstein found the band joined by one time GUNS guitarist Izzy Stradlin on "Think About You", "Patience" and "Night Train", which also included an enthusiastic Kid Rock coming onstage to join the band.
Over the four nights, audiences were also treated to nearly half of the band's upcoming new album, "Chinese Democracy", with live performances of "Chinese Democracy", "Better", "There was a Time", "Madagascar", "IRS" and "The Blues".
The New York concerts were warm-up shows for the European leg of the band's forthcoming tour, which starts May 25 in Madrid at Juan Carlos Arena.
For the upcoming tour, GUNS N' ROSES are playing a mixture of headline Festival appearances including Rock In Rio in Portugal, Download at the U.K.'s famed Castle Donington, Rock Am Ring in Germany, Gods Of Metal in Italy, Novarock in Austria, Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium, Roskilde in Denmark, A Heavy Day In The Park in Holland as well as their own headlining indoor shows in Madrid, Budapest, Prague, Warsaw, Paris, Zurich, Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki, most of which have been instant sellouts.
Rose commented: "We've just finished our four shows in New York and had an amazing time. New York has always been special and it feels great to be doing this again particularly in front of so many friends. I am very excited about Europe and getting back over here in September."

I saw axl on the 15th in nyc and he was great. I have heard hes moving to new york after this tour and i prey he does more shows there so i can see him again, i loved the hammerstein ballroom, kinda small and personal.

Sorry fellas, but Axl's new group is a poor man's GNR...It's what you get when you can't afford the real thing.
Axl is a talented guy, but he made a crucial error in naming this group GNR. Had he simply named it something else, I would be first in line to check it out. But, he got greedy and ruined something great.

I love how so many of you are quick to comment on the quality of the new band. My friends and I were front row center (on the gates if you will) for 2 of the NY shows. We paid $100 a pop for a ticket, we waited on line for hours, we suffered through a shitty band called Bullet for my Valentine, we waited some more... the naysayers (even at the show) said, "he's not coming, the show will be short, his voice will suck, he'll be fat, the new band can't be good - buckethead would have been worth seeing but he's out too, its not the old GNR... blah blah blah" and ya know what? They walked out of there blown away. Yes, I did talk to some of them after the show. No, it isn't the old GNR, but you assholes are so hell bent on living in the past.
Axl sounded fucking amazing, looked fucking amazing (ok, we could do without the cornrolls, BUT they weren't that bad), his new band is fucking amazing and are all sickass musicians in their own right - shit, bumblefoot was freakin' awesome and was only with them a little over a week?, and they played for 2.5 hours without missing a beat... pretty damn good and the man is 43. Five shows in seven days!
I'd hate to see how fucking well most of you could look/sing/run around at 43.
Get off your pedastals, and give them to Axl. It's his stage.
