ALICE IN CHAINS To Headline LOCOBAZOOKA! Music Festival
- May 23, 2006
3-D Entertainment announced today that legendary grunge rockers ALICE IN CHAINS will headline the Locobazooka! music festival at the Tweeter Center on Sunday, August 13, 2006.
New England's largest music festival, Locobazooka! is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. For the past several years, the festival had been held at the Fitchburg Municipal Airport in Fitchburg, MA. Dan Hartwell, 3-D Entertainment President, remarked, "Locobazooka! grows bigger and better every year. With an incredible band like ALICE IN CHAINS headlining and the move to a first-class venue like the Tweeter Center, this year's 15th anniversary celebration is going to be huge!" Hartwell added that additional bands would be announced in the coming weeks.
One of the most successful and influential bands to come out of the Seattle music scene, ALICE IN CHAINS reunited earlier this year for the first time since the death of lead singer Layne Staley in 2002. The band's recent U.S. club tour included a sold out show at Boston's Avalon Ballroom last night.
Locobazooka! has become known by both music fans and music business professionals alike as a springboard to success for many up-and-coming bands. KID ROCK, LIMP BIZKIT, GODSMACK, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, STAIND, SLIPKNOT, SHADOWS FALL, DAMAGEPLAN, and DISTURBED are just a few Locobazooka! veterans who went onto become major headliners after playing the festival.
The festival has also become known as a unique opportunity for unsigned bands to play alongside major label artists in front of an audience of thousands of fans. "Now that we've officially announced the festival, we are going to get swamped with submissions and phone calls from bands looking to play Locobazooka! We still have a few spots left that we need to fill, so I urge any band that wants to play Locobazooka! to get in touch with us immediately," said Hartwell.
Tickets for Locobazooka! United We Rock Festival featuring ALICE IN CHAINS go on-sale Thursday, May 25, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Tickets are available at the Tweeter Center Box Office and at Ticketmaster outlets, including Filene's, by calling (617/508) 931-2000, or (617) 228-6000, or by logging on to www.teapartyconcerts.com.

They should try a gig with Corey from Stone Sour, I'm sure he can reach some of the lower keys and it would be interesting... Of course he would have to not scream a-la-SK...
Ok, here comes the bashers below (haha)

Great show and very packed!!!! The new singer did a great job and would make layne proud the way he sings the songs. Only problem was that every time I was wtching him I kept thinking how much he looked like the singer of Rage against the machine and it kind of threw me off. otherwise, no complaints here
I was at that Metro-Chicago show too! Overall it was great. No special guest performers...but that didn't matter...it was 10 years in the making and worth the trip to Chi-town. Cool venue-but WAY oversold.

That fucking blows. Dont get me wrong, I'd love to see AIC, but the fucking tweeter center? That place fucking sucks. I wish it was still on the Worcester Fair Grounds. That was a cool place. Even Fitchburg Airport wasn't bad, the line ups sucked, but thats another matter. For me to actually go to this it better be a KILLER fucking line up.

I drove over 10 hours to see this show and spent 250 bucks for 2 tickets. Overall the concert was amazing and the band sounded great with William Duvall filling in. I was sorta disapointed that there were no special guest singers like there were at all their other shows. Also, the set list for the Chicago show was much shorter than the other AIC shows because they did not play "Them Bones", "Dirt" and "Angry Chair". But getting to hear AIC in a really small venue was well worth it!!

Will always hold a special place with me. Layne is missed terribly but I'm glad the rest are going to continue with it. It's been too long without Alice being on tour. I can't wait to see if they come to my neck of the woods soon. I'll be the first in line.
