ALICE IN CHAINS: Video Footage From NYC Concert Posted Online

A BLABBERMOUTH.NET visitor by the name of Tom Corsillo has uploaded a two-minute-plus video clip of ALICE IN CHAINS performing the song "Junkhead" at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City Tuesday night (May 23). Check it out at this location. Still available is a clip of AIC performing "We Die Young" on Monday, May 22 at the Avalon in Boston, Massachusetts, which can be seen at YouTube.com. A short clip of AIC guitarist Jerry Cantrell's solo in the track "Love, Hate, Love", recorded on May 18 at The Roxy in West Hollywood, California can be viewed here. In other news, MTV.com has posted a review of last night's concert at the Bowery Ballroom. Read it at this location. ALICE IN CHAINS — Cantrell, Kinney, Inez and William DuVall (who will handle lead vocals for the group) — have completed a short U.S. tour and will next head overseas for a series of club dates and festival appearances. As previously reported, a half-hour interview with ALICE IN CHAINS members Cantrell, Kinney and Inez — which aired earlier in the month on the HDNet ( High Definition TV) channel as part of the "Sound Off" program with host Matt Pinfield — has been posted online at this location.

I heard people leave saying Layne was better last night at the show, but he did do a good impression of him at least. It was just weird seeing a really tall lanky black dude singing AIC songs. ::shrug::

I went to the Boston show and it was unbelievable. Sure Layne's not there, but it wasn't any worse, wasn't any better....it was just different. I was glad he didn't try to do a complete ripoff of Layne's voice. He put his own signature on the songs and they sounded fantastic.

i uploaded this onto myspace as soon as i got home from the show last night, so sorry if youre not a myspace member, but ill put it on youtube when i get home from work today...i also have about 60 photos that were taken from right in front of william and jerry...ill put them on photobucket or something and post a link to them on here...
the show was amazing...william was definitely as worthy a replacement as they could possibly get for someone as awesome as layne...he did a great job...and i got a drumstick and shook jerrys hand which made the show even better for me haha...anyway, enjoy the video

With out Layne, it's not AIC. Bottom line!!!! I have no problems with the remains of a death stricken band continuing to perform and make music, but call it something else because it’s not AIC. Layne was AIC, but he’s dead. Cantrell is one talented mother fucker, start something new dude!!!!

sorry about the poor sound quality...but i took the video on my digital cam, and since i was so close, it mostly picked up bass and the people around me singing..but oh well...should be good enough to satisfy most of you
also, layne is obviously irreplaceable...but jerry was the brains of aic, and i think the guys definitely do the old stuff enough justice to carry on calling themselves alice in chains

Then why have Layne in the first place? Oh ya, that's because Cantrell couldn't make it without him. He tried, but.......Layne was the voice and face of AIC. Don’t get me wrong, Cantrell is the shit but AIC is done. Get over it, stop chasing the dragon.

alice in chains were awesome at The Roxy.. it was so sick to see them at such a small venue... the only downside was how fuckin HOT it was in there... but it was well worth it.. AIC!!!!!

you cant fault them for continuing as aic...if it was really about making money from the name, jerry could have easily released boggy depot under the aic banner seeing as how it consisted of two aic members...but he didnt...now theyre doing aic with all but the singer - albeit an amazing singer in layne - but theyre doing the songs justice, and its not like they kicked layne out and replaced him...if one of my bandmates died, id continue making music under our name, and i think most people would do the same

LA show was fanfuckintastic. thats it. period(well except the insane heat). the dude sang his ass off and sounded great. RIP layne and all that, but dont miss out on seeing these guys live because you have a bad attitude about it. corgan was pretty cool too. he needs to get his shit together and reunite the pumpkins...

BUT I CAN'T BLAME THE GUYS FOR TRYING TO CARRY ON. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THEY'RE ALIVE AND WANNA PLAY MUSIC. LAYNE'S ADDICTION COST THE BAND TIME, MONEY AND A CONTINUED LEGACY. First off... Rest in Peace Layne.
Secondly, Jerry has EVERY right in the world the carry on the Alice In Chains name with a new singer. Is it his fault that Layne Staley was so messed up? Is it their fault that Layne committed suicide with that poison?
Basically, and it's going to sound a bit harsh. If you guys are saying that Jerry is being selfish for carrying on without Layne, then they are even now. Layne was selfish in taking his own life.
