PEARL JAM: New Audio Interview With Guitarist MIKE MCCREADY Posted Online - May 25, 2006
A five-minute audio interview with PEARL JAM guitarist Mike McCready, conducted earlier this month by Steve Black of Detroit's WRIF 101.1 FM, has been posted online at this location (Windows Media).

As previously reported, PEARL JAM have created a video for "Life Wasted", the second single from the band's self-titled new album. This is the band's first music video since "Do The Evolution" from 1998's "Yield". The clip was available for free downloading at Google Video until yesterday (Wednesday, May 24) under the Creative Commons license, allowing people around the world to legally copy, distribute and share it for non-commercial purposes.

PEARL JAM singer Eddie Vedder says that "Life Wasted" is based on a way of looking at life that he feels strongly about. "You want to live while you're alive," he told Launch. "You know, I don't want to waste my life addicted to some kind of chemical, I don't want to waste my life in a bad relationship, and I also don't want to be a liability to the planet. It's a reminder, really, because otherwise, you know, you get involved in life's, you know, responsibilities, and forget that this could be a one-shot deal, and to get the most of it."

PEARL JAM's new album, their eighth studio effort, arrived in stores on May 2 and debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200.

Meanwhile, according to the Associated Press, PEARL JAM may lose its new headquarters in Seattle because of city plans to build a dump at the same site. The group moved into a warehouse near Kings County Regional Airport in December and found out about the plans in late January. Seattle Public Utilities wants to build a $70 million waste management station on the site, although the plan still awaits city council approval.

Area residents are hoping that PEARL JAM will help fight the project.

I've got nothing against Pearl Jam, but they hardly qualify as a metal band, so why is this article here?

WAHHHHHH!!!! They're not metal. Cry me a river.

The article is here because almost every Metalhead I know has diverse musical tastes. Plus, this is Bori's site, and he posts whatever the fuck he wants.

They were hotter than doughnut grease back in the 90's, but they lost theyre way... I heard so much hype about the new Pearl Jam CD being a return to the heavier/ rockn pearl jam that we all appreciated back in the day. So, I go buy the CD.... mistake!!!! I tried to enjoy it.... after 5 spins, it got put away. I see no difference in the new album from the garbage they have been dishing out for the last 10 years. Glad Tool came through (sort of).
