GUNS N' ROSES Perform At Portugal's ROCK IN RIO: Video Available

A video clip of GUNS N' ROSES performing their classic track "Sweet Child 'O Mine" at the Rock In Rio festival in Lisbon, Portugal earlier today (Saturday, May 27) has been posted online at YouTube.com. As previously reported, GUNS N' ROSES look likely to return for more U.S. shows this autumn, possibly starting in September, according to a press release. Following the band's recent four-night stand in New York City, their first live shows since late 2002, singer Axl Rose said, "We've just finished our four shows in NY and had an amazing time. NY has always been special and it feels great to be doing this again particularly in front of so many friends. I am very excited about Europe and getting back over here in September." The group, which features no original members from its classic lineup other than Axl, began a run of European festival shows on Thursday, May 25. Axl Rose has been saying that the band's long-delayed new album, "Chinese Democracy", will be out later this year. (Thanks: CARL!N aka vampyr)

time for Axl to change his sound crew you couldn't hear the guitars most of the night and Axl's mic kept shutting off it seems . It was a mess. Hammerstein didn't sound this shitty. It was good .

As a whole I thaught the concert kicked ass... and I'm really not easy to impress. I was expecting to see a fat washed up redhead with cornrow hair plugs running around the stage lip synching but I was really surprised. It was actually really good and on most of the songs axl sounded really good. I can't imagine runing around and physically performing as much as theese guys do for so long and still not hiting a few wrong notes... especially vocally. I give huge props to Axl and even bigger props to the band. They showed alot of talent IMO.

watch the re-broadcast . That youtube clip does not do it justice. I am one of the people that was saying the show sucked but watching now a 2nd time they fixed the mix and it sounds good .

How did it suck? Axl's voice is better then it's ever then and Rob played Slash's parts perfectly. My guess is all the Slash fanboy's are busy sucking his cock. It's amazing how many people are fucking jelous, the band is back and there's nothing you can do about it. The whole show was poorly mixed but it was still better than this SCOM clip indicates. Watch the aol stream it's replaying the show. You know what I think should happen? Why was the drummer wearing headphones? I have only seen drummers from crappy R&B or rap bands wear them while playing. Maybe he didn't like Axl's voice and is listening to the real version from the REAL guns n roses on Appetite for Destruction.
Axl still kicks ass but I can't keep track of his band members and for that, he needs a giant kick up the arse. Go solo and save some credibility.

Was fucking up, sounded unprofessional as fuck, but it still didn't disguise the fact that Axl's voice sounded horrendous.
And the drummer may have been wearing earphones because the amp's may have been behind him, or any other reason for that matter...I saw an extreme metal band called Decapity's drummer wearing them during a gig once because all the amps were right behind him and he's be deafened otherwise.

I was at the Madrid show and Axl's voice was much better than in Portugal despite being 2 hours late! Half of the auditaurium seats ended up on stage, and people chanted Axl's an asshole for over an hour. He did not talk to the crowd and he knew they we're really pissed off at the band. The show was really good!!!

Slash, Duff and Steven may not be original GNR members, but they're part of the lineup that made GNR famous. Who cares what the very first lineup was, they hadn't accomplished anything yet. Most bands had different lineups in the early garage days, the lineup that's in place when they actually "make it" is all that matters.
Maybe if Axl had gotten the original lineup (before Slash and crew) back together, this reunion would make a bit more sense, but this current lineup has nothing to do with GNR.
And, I'm not much of a VR fan, but they are more authentic than scab Guns could ever be...and they're more GNR than new GNR will ever be. At least VR aren't up there playing someone else's songs for a living.
Trust me, pal, new GNR is not worth defending. When Axl scraps this new lineup and tries to start over with a third version of GNR, will you be there clappin' like a seal for them too?

anybody with an IQ above 10 would realize that the mix was terribly bad and not judge the performance on that mix. . But unfortunately the majority of the posters here have an IQ below 10 and prefer to listen to cookie monster bullshit music. The reason the mix was off in the stream was because their soundboard blew up ( as confirmed by management and RiR staff) and the band could hardly here themselves at times. Luckily for them the music was heard fine for the people in attendance. I have a question , I look at all the different times of news that is posted on the main page and I look at people's comments and they are always negative and hateful. Are there any bands on planet earth that you bastards like?? Seriously. every thread i read is " they suck ass" " no talents" " they should die". I guess on brownstone they decided hey lets mic the bongos louder than everyone else. Or on sweet child o mine they said, "lets cut axl's mic in and out, that should sound amazing!!!!!".
The sound at the show was fine, i heard it was just the television feed. They fucked up the sound.
