IZZY STRADLIN: 'No Concrete Plans' To Perform With GUNS N' ROSES In Europe - May 30, 2006
GUNS N' ROSES founding guitarist Izzy Stradlin joined his former band onstage for three songs at the final show of the group's four-night stand in New York City on May 17. Stradlin, who left the group in 1991, performed "Think About You", "Patience" and "Nightrain", the latter of which also featured an appearance from Kid Rock. Izzy was heavily rumored to turn up for the group's New York shows, its first concerts since December of 2002.

Regarding the possibility of guest appearances with GUNS N' ROSES on their current European tour, Izzy said in a posting on his official web site, "I don't have any concrete plans at this moment to join them in Europe but I will let you know if it changes. Please let people know nothing is confirmed at this point for Europe. NY was pretty cool."

Izzy left GNR in mid-1991, just around the time its "Use Your Illusion" albums were released. He has since recorded five albums on his own, either as a solo artist or with the JU JU HOUNDS.

Axl has promised that the band's long-delayed new album, "Chinese Democracy", will be out later this year, but no release date has been announced.

Is the best member of Guns N' Roses. He wrote all the best songs. GNR could once again be if Izzy joined Slash and Axl.

"I Hope This Is The Beginning Of A REUNION!! IZZY STRADLIN RULES!!!"

Slash takes too much of the spotlight away from wigga hair, and vice versa. There will be no reunion. Ego's are too big, and Axl doesn't want to split the money.

I remember when Izzy first left G N' R back in '91 or '92.

His replacement was heavily rumored to be Dave Navarro, Because Jane's Addiction had just broken up around that time.

GUNS N' ROSES then decided on Gilby Clarke instead of Dave Navarro.

Gilby Clarke fit GUNS pretty good.
I don't think Dave Navarro would've fit that band at the time.

Wow, Axl has really lost his talent. I saw those Rio performances...AWFUL! I understand that crappy sound plays a part, but Axl doesn't have any voice left...I guess years of doing his Janis Joplin-styled vocals has ruined his pipes.

And Axl has no stage presence anymore either. He stands at the mic stand like a fragile old man. And when he tries to do his signature "running in place" dance move, it looks so un-natural and totally uncool.

I'm not bagging on Axl...I'm actually quite sad for the guy. I used to love Axl and GNR, but he just doesn't have "it" anymore.

I don't see how new GNR could last long when Axl already sounds this bad, and the only original member is also the weakest link of the group. Axl, you had a good run, but your day is over.

Axl has better stage presence than most of the rock singers out there right now. Axl may be old but he stills puts on a good performance . What about all those singers in their 20's right now that always stand in one spot and sing? what is their excuse for not working the crowd?? Of course Axl is not going to be able to move like a maniac because his lungs can't take it anymore so he has to pace himself. All those years of smoking fucked up his lungs . He still smokes and has recently began drinking alot more also. He walked on stage with an almost empty bottle of cristal at the beginning of WTTJ, so it's obvious he still not taking care of himself that great. Another reason why he wasn't moving freely on stage at RiR was because he had muscle spasm and was in pain most of the night as explain by his manager.

Too many excuses! Either a band rocks or they don't. When a band puts on a shit performance, you can't plead with all of the disappointed fans to change their opinion based on a list of excuses.

If Axl destroyed his lungs from smoking, then maybe he shouldn't be playing anymore.

If Axl doesn't take good care of himself and drinks too much, maybe he shouldn't be performing.

If Axl has muscle spasms and cannot move onstage, maybe he shouldn't be onstage anymore.

Perhaps there should be a disclaimer on all new GNR tickets that read: For you to truly enjoy the new GNR performance, you must focus more on the fact that Axl used to be great, and try to ignore the fact that he's old and tired, suffers from muscle spasms and poor sound quality, he's also ditched the rest of GNR, and has no voice left. But hey, the guy's a legend so cut him some slack if his performance is terrible...Enjoy the rock show!
