KISS To Invade Your Kitchen And Bathroom!

Look out, KISS is about to invade your kitchen and bathroom! KISS licensee California Gold has just released nine new KISS ceramic wall tiles featuring all of the classic KISS album covers of the '70s. Each 6" x 6" ceramic tile features a great quality full-color KISS cover. These new tiles follow the "Alive II" and the solo tiles that were released last year. by no means do i consider myself a guru of interior design, but come on, this is just flat out tacky. Granted, I'm sure there are people out there who will actually decorate their bathrooms/kitchens/trailers with this stuff, just as the Jerry Springer show never seems to be at a loss for guests.
Listen, I'm all for having a "guy's room", such as a basement bar decorated with music and sports stuff, but this is ridiculous. Still, I can't blame Kiss. If there are idiots out there who want to buy this shit (and there obviously are), then more power to them. Just like PT Barnum (that would be the circus guy, folks) said, "there's a sucker born every minute".
Hell, if some hillbilly (and yes, anyone who decorates their kitches with this shit is a hillbilly) wanted to buy wallpaper with my face on it, why not sell it to him?

Ive got a KISS PLATE!!! Hand made, one of a kind.....my wife is gonna be sooo happy when I volunteer to renovate the Bathroom at home and a couple of boxes of these little beauties turn up!!!!

as far as your Ibanez comment is concerned.......I just bought an Ibanez Iceman about a week ago and it plays just as sweet as gibsons and esps twice the price. Plus, the body is waaaay cooler. Carry on asswipe. (professional musician hahaha)

i saw the 1990 tour.it was a 23 song two and a half hour marathon of kiss.pretty darn good setlist too.eric carr last tour with kiss.he was their best drummer.when they played black diamond a chill went down my spine.they had not played it in years.they lowered the kiss logo and everyone just had chills run down their spines.all the true kiss fans did.they had the sphinx out the whole time and the logo came out near the end.

they were cool last night. the kiss tribute band was even better in my opinion, but both rocked. i dont see how more kiss merchandising is big news lol they are everywhere...but kiss is cool in my book even though im not a huge fan

I saw them twice on that tour. Eric played his solo on the second leg of it. The sphinx, the setlist, the musicianship - just an incredible tour, as was the Revenge tour, BTW. Gene pulled the firebreathing back out for that one. And the strippers on "Take It Off"... good stuff.
"Decorative tiles can go for upwards of $4.50 a piece. Even if they were spaced out, wouldn't it be about $300 Just for the Kiss tiles to redo your bathroom? "
The only Kiss tiles I could find were the solo album faces here:

Those tiles are $14.95 EACH, so for what you are talking about, you are looking at probably $1,000 to do your bathroom, after shipping. Personally, I'd just do a single row of them a couple of feet down from the ceiling.

I find it odd that KI$$ is being licensed to death now that they are way (and I mean *way*, like 32 years) past their prime. Is there really such a huge market for this stuff. Even the fans of old who couldn't afford this stuff back in the 70s are now so much beyond buying that kind of thing.
I also think it's weird that "Double Platinum" in on those tiles. That was a 'best of' compilation.

bathroom tiles and all merch is far more interesting for every old KISS fan (now pushing 40) as memoribilia or nostalgia.
Kiss was always at least as much about their larger than life image etc etc, the music is just a bonus.
