Ex-FAITH NO MORE Singer's New Album To Include Remake Of 'We Care A Lot' - June 2, 2006
Former FAITH NO MORE frontman Chuck Mosley has told Greg Prato of Billboard.com that he is currently working on an album with his new band, VANDALS AGAINST ILLITERACY (V.U.A.). "The album we're working on and trying to finish is called 'Will Rap Over Hard Rock for Food'," Mosley told Billboard.com. "It's more kind of my style — more noisiness, but there's some rapping over hard rock. There's more screaming and singing — some short punk rock songs, some harder ones, acoustic jammies."

Joining Mosley in V.U.A. is Cobra Verde guitarist Tim Parnin, bassist Ed Stevens, and "A guy named Eric. I can't remember his last name, he plays drums — he was in PRO-PAIN," he says. In addition to handling vocals, Mosley also supplies some guitar.

With Mosley at the helm, FAITH NO MORE became one of the '80s' leading underground bands on the strength of 1985's "We Care a Lot" and 1987's "Introduce Yourself". Despite exiting the group in 1988 under less-than-friendly circumstances, the Ohio-based Mosley is now friendly with most of his former FNM bandmates. In fact, keyboardist Roddy Bottum appears on the new album's remake of the title track from "We Care a Lot".

I've always liked that song, but Chuck isn't in the same universe as Mike Patton.

we care a lot is pretty much the best song he wrote. faith no more made leaps and bounds as soon as mike patton came along though.

ok, easy guys. yeah so Chuck's vocals are sloppy, and yeah Mike Patton's vocals are a hundred times better. we know this. however, don't underestimate Faith No More's Intrduce Yourself album. the vocals may not be great, but the songs are still kick ass. it may not be FNM's best, but its still an awesome album.

I concur. "The Crab Song" is the best song he ever wrote. "We Care A Lot" is probably second.

Those who discredit Mosley have no understanding of his contribution. I guarentee most people who are saying chuck sucks are still learning what it is to appreciate different music.

In my opinion, Mosley made it possible for Patton to come in and be as weird and expiremental and different as he is. Chuck vs. Patton singing abilities is already a closed case. The sloppyness/all over the place disregard for what YOU think is "good singing" is apart of what made FNM so loved and appreciated.

And btw, this is coming from people who listen to heavy metal vocals? SHouldn't you guys be the one who understands the concept that its not always about vocal talent, but that its more about attitude and style than anything else?

I smell a Faith No More reunion coming, just not the one we all want. Patton's too busy with his other projects and I doubt Jim Martin would be invited back, even though he was an integral part of the band.

I never like Chuck Mosely. The first two FNM albums were good musically, but the vocals totally ruined it.

Wouldn't it be funny to read on BBM..........

He's not that bad, the big problem is that its either him or Patton as far as FNM goes (Mike Morris doesn't count since it was the Faith No Man days), and Patton is simply the most talented vocalist of all time.

he's sooooo stupid.so so stupid- the fucking prick.i have come up with my own theory that he is trying to get back with Faith No More.look at the evidence people-he wants to rap, scream,do noises (patton)-has made up with the band-covering a Faith song-patton does not want to reunite....Moseley-arse can suck my dick-he's a crap singer and cleans the jizz from pattons cock.

I have heard the VUA studio takes and it is a great album. More then just a vocalist, Chuck is an excellent song writer and insightful poet. His musical influences go beyond the limitations of FNM. Beyond "Epic", what has FNM done without Chuck ?
