ROB ZOMBIE Rumored To Direct 'Halloween 9'

According to Fangoria.com, Rob Zombie is rumored to be in talks with Dimension Films about helming the ninth installment of the "Halloween" franchise. It is unclear as to whether he's aiming to do the oft-rumored "lost years" prequel or an original chapter of his own. World Entertainment News Network reported last month that plans to make "Halloween: The Missing Years" were shelved when producer Moustapha Akkad died in last year's terrorist attacks in Jordan, but writer Jake Wade Wall has confirmed to MovieHole.net that the series is back on. Wall told the site that the prequel will be set before the events of "Halloween 2: Halloween Resurrection", and will focus on the life of serial killer Michael Myers as a young man, before he was placed in a mental institution. Wall said, "I've been hired three different times for it (the film)... It looks like it's finally set to go. "I know that they're (studio executives) in the process of nailing down a really big director but I haven't been able to figure out who it is yet."

fucking mikey myers is back....i am a serious horror fan and love halloween but come on.. another sequel? michael myers should be in his sixties by now...prequel? not a good idea. rob zombie directing it? catastrophic.....i mean zombie is an okay director and all but i dont think he should mess around with the halloween series..

i think Halloween 4 and H2O were the best after Halloween 1.
i enjoyed them all Except for Halloween 3.

My personal favorite of the franchise is the third installment, which of course had nothing to do with MM. Maybe I'm just biased toward it because I saw it in the theater when I was like 12.

How the hell is he going to do this? He's going on tour again w/ (goddess) Anthrax next month, he's doing El Superbeasto, which is supposed to be out next year, he's working on a script for a WESTERN, he's hosting a TV show for old movies, he's breaking in a new bassist, not to mention special appearances, autograph sessions, and hopefully go back into the studio SOMETIME --
How the flyin' is he going to do this?
And HALLOWEEN??? Do we really need another one??? I'm with Blizzard Beast on that one...like another Freddy or Jason.

'educated horses' has tanked sales wise(in fact, it reinforces my own theory that rob's sales decrease by 2/3's with each album) so maybe it is time for him to commit somewhere else. directing shitty horror movies for a pay check isn't a bad way to go.

Horses tanked in sales due to "car wreck mentality." Everyone jumped out and bought it because it's Bobby. Then, when they brought it home, they called up their friends and said, "Uh...you're not gonna believe this," and it germinated like a Fabrege commercial.
That's why it sold thousands and now there's hundred sitting on "used CD" shelves.

i love his movies so far, but im glad he's starting to do some outside the rejects/corpses series. it would be amazing for him to do a halloween one. i actually kinda liked the last one (or was it the 7th) where people were stuck in michael's house...but i think a zombie one would kick its ass.

Zombie's music is great. Movies are great as well...Music & Movies = Art. You dont see that...Go die. "House of 1000 Corpses" and "The Devil's Rejects" were HIS views. "Halloween" is a good movie series. I hope to see him follow through with this one. Man...you guys should seriously stop ragging on everyone. Rob Zombie is the shit...8507496 people agree.

Krueger is untouchable, and Jason is cool too. Halloween I & II were good, but I completely lost interest after that.
Freddy vs Jason 2 and an Elm Street prequel would kick ass, and then the legends could retire (which they probably will).
WE NEED A NEW HORROR MOVIE ANTI-HERO!!!
(Pinhead is getting pretty old too, though I love the guy)

Following the sequence of events as told by the fucking previous sequels. The halloween franchise took a overall quality nose dive right after the first, ever since then its been a b-slasher fest at best, which is very entertaining in its own right. Halloween is one of the few horror franchises that just fuckin makes shit up, completly disregarding whats already gone on. And oh yea, Busta Rhymes said "Trick or Treat...Motherfucker" in the last shit installment. Maybe Zombies appreciation for the 70s horror era will help this tragically funny series.
